When I tuned in to church online this morning and saw the hashtag, I was excited to get a picture of my family joining with our church in worship.
This was the best I could do.
This morning was hard. I had snacks and crayons and construction paper and all the plans for a fruitful morning—and my kids were into it for all of five minutes.
I was trying to walk the tightrope of not “forcing” them to participate in (or at least be quiet during 😳) church, while modeling for them the fact that church is important, even in (or especially in) uncertain times, and also trying to hear the sermon for myself.
In other words, I felt a lot of pressure!
I just want to encourage you, that even if church was hard for you this morning and you didn’t have that great picture to share or your children were crazy and didn’t listen to a single word of the sermon—or even if you yelled at someone during church (🙋🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️)—I’m right there with you.
Judy, my T2 mom, often encourages me by saying, “God is not surprised that your kids are a lot! He created them...AND gave them to you!”
Remember 2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
I’m praying that you all feel so much grace this week. But if you feel overwhelmed or bogged down or under too much pressure, I want to encourage you to take that to Jesus. Give it to Him and let Him be magnified in your weakness.
Love, Molly
