On December 26th, 1999, a group of 12 people left Mud Creek Baptist Church heading for Burgaw, NC in response to NC Baptist Men’

s call for help in ministering to the victims of Hurricane Floyd. During the week God gave us the vision for the Carpenter’s Hands Ministry. Over the next year many lives were touched as we rebuilt home after home witnessed many miracles. When the work in Burgaw was finished we served in Grifton, NC for a year and continued to see God not only work in the lives of the people we ministered to, but also in our own lives as He sought to make us better servants. Since then, the Carpenter’s Hands Ministry has responded to other disasters in NC, WV, NY (9/11), GA, KY, FL, AR, AL, MS, LA (Katrina), TX, and HI. These trips were for hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, ice storms, and man-made disasters. All of this was done through the NC Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief. Partnership Ministry
In the summer of 2002 Carpenter’s Hands Ministry joined North Carolina Baptist Men’s partnership with a trip to Morning Star Baptist Church in Healy, Alaska. While there we renovated the existing church and added a large multi-purpose building for church and community use. We took five other trips to Alaska helping build churches and working on individuals’ homes, doing sports clinics and vacation Bible schools for children. In Vermont we remodeled a parsonage and worked on a 200 plus year old stone church building. In June of 2009, we constructed a new church in Bayfield, Colorado. For our Christmas 2009 project, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity and built a home in a week for a large family. Summer of 2010 we were led to Twin Falls, Idaho where we helped build the new building for Eastide Baptist Church. Local Ministries
We have had the privilege of building 3 houses in our community. We have also had served locally through building numerous handicap ramps, re-roofing houses, repairing homes, and building churches. Thanks
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights” James 1:17. We share our history to say that we are all very thankful to God for allowing us to show His love others as He worked through us in disaster relief, recovery, construction, sports and children’s ministries over the last 10 years. All donations are used to support the ministry of the Carpenter's Hands . Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works
and glorify your father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Latest update on Starlyn:. Not much change. Some things got worse overnight. Tentative plan is to let her stay in ICU until tomorrow and then discharge her home with Hospice. They just want her to be as comfortable as possible. Please continue to pray!

Starlyn is in ICU. She has been given a unit of blood, an antibiotic and medication to reduce her ammonia level. Craig is hoping they will know more in the morning. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers!

Three good reports for today......

Robert is doing well. Not having to take any pain pills at all and is walking around! His swelling is minimal. Please continue to pray for healing .

Mike's heart cath went pretty well. He has follow-up appointments including an EKG in the next couple of weeks. Several of his medications have also been changed. Hopefully after the follow-up appointments his doctors will come up with a plan of action. Please continue to pray for Mike's pain and weakness and that his doctors will determine a treatment plan soon.

Pete's surgery also went well. They removed three of his five screws instead of the single one that he was expecting. So far the numbing agent that they used has not worn off . Please pray that when it does he will have minimal pain and a speedy recovery.

I do believe that our entire crew is safely back home from Vermont now. Thank you for all your prayers during this trip. We had a great group of people and Danny did a fantastic job of leading us! I wish everyone could experience one of these trips. There's just such a sweet camaraderie and everybody works so well together! We make new friends and receive such blessings every year!

Robert's surgery went great last Thursday and he is doing well. Please continue to pray for his recovery. Also please keep Mike and Pete in your prayers. They are both undergoing medical procedures tomorrow. Mike is having a more in depth heart catheterization and Pete is having one of the screws removed from his heel that was crushed when he fell off the Church roof in West Virginia last November.

We need to continue praying for Syble, Kevin, Craig, Starlyn, and Juanita as well. Our mission trip just wasn't quite the same without these missing team members this year!

How awesome is this? In 2014 Larry was teaching his 2 year old granddaughter Ada to paint on our Montana summer mission trip and this year Ada was once again painting with Larry on our Vermont summer mission trip at 13 years old! I think this is another record for Carpenter's Hands Ministry!!
