Easter Sunday:

Prayer –
Almighty God, through the rising of Jesus Christ from the dead, you have given us a living hope. Keep us joyful in all our trials, and guard our faith, so that we might persevere and receive the wonderful inheritance of life eternal, which you have prepared for us. We also ask that we might be filled with your Holy Spirit anew today, so that all we do and say would point to you and give you all honor and praise both now and forever more! In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

Scripture for April 5:
Read Psalm 150.

Questions for Study:
1. Why do churches repeat the phrase “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!” three times at the beginning of worship?

2. How can we apply the command to praise God in His Sanctuary to our corporate worship experience today?

3. Why are God’s surpassing greatness and mighty acts reasons to praise Him?

4. How does the concluding "Hallelujah!" or “Praise the LORD!” (depending on translation) challenge your current understanding and practice of worship?

5. If every breath is meant for praise, how should this change how we view our daily life and speech?

Paschal Saturday:

Prayer –
How great is your love, O God, that you would send Jesus to take up a cross and lay down his life for the world? How can we even fathom the depths of your love, that He lay in the dark, cold tomb as life seemed to go on for all but your disciples. As we contemplate your love, draw us to repentance, so we might experience your overflowing love again on this day. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture for April 4:
Read Psalm 95:1-7.

Questions for Study:
1. What does it mean to make a joyful noise to the “Rock of our Salvation”? Why is singing together as a community of believers so important?

2. According to verses 3-5, why does God deserve our Worship?

3. What is the significance of “bowing down” or kneeling in worship?

4. How can we practically come before God's presence with "thanksgiving" in our daily lives?

5. Given that God is the "King above all gods" (v. 3), what are some "false gods" (priorities, comforts) that compete for your worship today?

Good Friday:

Prayer –
Merciful Father, you gave Your Son to suffer the shame of the cross. Save us from hardness of heart, so that seeing Him who died for us, we may repent, confess our sins, and receive your overflowing love. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture for April 3:
Read Psalm 22.

Questions for Study:
1. What can we learn from David’s remembrance of God’s faithfulness to ancestors, even while he is struggling with despair?

2. What specific details from this Psalm are later referenced in the Gospels regarding Christ’s crucifixion?

3. How does the phrase in verse 16, “they have pierced my hands and my feet,” bridge the Old Testament and the New Testament?

4. How does this Psalm encourage you to understand the role of prayer in times of crisis?

5. How does this Psalm challenge us to think about God’s presence, even when we feel alone?
