The Second Sunday of Easter.

Today we considered the first day of the week after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, when he appeared to the disciples.

“Receive the Holy Spirit,” He told them. “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Of course, Thomas missed all that, and he was full of doubt. He wanted proof!

A week later, he would get that opportunity, and Jesus would tell him, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”

Today, we focused on faith.

Prayers for all. 🙏

Maundy Thursday.

Today we sought to remember and emulate the example given to us by Jesus Christ, the washing of feet, a humble act of love and caring. We were reminded of His new commandment to love one another. We were encouraged to truly live the experience of Holy Week, day by day, not rushing into Easter, but rather striving to imagine and relive the experience of the disciples as it played out, not knowing what’s next.

Prayers for all. 🙏

The Fourth Sunday in Lent,
“Laetare Sunday” marking our joyful mid-Lent anticipation of Easter.

Today we focused on the Gospel of John, with Jesus smearing mud on the eyes of a blind man, giving the man sight. We considered the mystery of miracles and their relationship to God‘s presence and will.

Prayers for all. 🙏

The Third Sunday in Lent

Today we considered the conversation between Jesus Christ and a Samaritan lady, as she arrived at the well where Jesus was resting. He teaches her about “living water” before revealing he knows all about her.

Prayers for all. 🙏

The Second Sunday in Lent

Today we were blessed to worship with The Church of the Transfiguration in Bat Cave, where we considered the first meeting between Jesus Christ and Nicodemus, with Jesus instructing the curious Pharisee that he must be born of the spirit to see the kingdom of God.
