We are overjoyed to celebrate today’s decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to decline revisiting the landmark ruling that upholds marriage equality. 🏳️‍🌈

At RMN, we believe every person created in God’s image deserves dignity, love, and the freedom to form faithful, committed relationships. This moment is an affirmation of that sacred truth.

Let us give thanks and continue working in our churches, our communities, and our world to build the beloved, inclusive Church our faith calls us to.

With deep sadness we share the news of the sudden death of Helen Ryde. Helen helped with the start of All God’s Children. They will be missed. Please keep their family in your prayers.

We have heartbreaking news to share with you, and we wish we could do this with you in person. On the morning of Tuesday, September 2nd, Helen Ryde died unexpectedly in their home.

We mourn because Helen had so much left to do – not just through their role at RMN but in the love they had yet to receive and give, their compassion and thoughtfulness, their authenticity and courage.

We'll have chances in the coming days to recollect Helen's ministry. For now, we welcome you to share below and be for each other a cloud of comfort. (Please honor Helen's pronouns, they/them, as a part of who Helen was and is.)

[text reads:

independence,
we ask of you God,
from bo***ge of
all kinds.

from apathy

from savage cruelty

(we do this to each other,
to our own –
we do this)

from amnesia
(are we first neighbors
or are we consumers?
and who/what
are the consumed?)

from despair,
which looks like anger.

from distance,
from separateness,
the one-act play of
independence,
deliver us, loving God.]

Christian clergy including Rev. William Barber II were arrested at the U.S. Capitol yesterday for praying – asking for mercy in advance of a vote on an inhumane federal budget.

The illusion of Christianity is this administration's thin veneer. The vendors' tables are in the halls of power. Jesus would send them crashing onto the marble and chase out the oppressors with whips.

On Monday, April 14, United Methodists participated in a Q***r Christian Leaders and Allies Gathering on Capitol Hill. Sponsored by the Collective of Q***r Christian Leaders, ecumenical participants from across the U.S. joined in the press conference to denounce Christian Nationalism and call for the church to be in solidarity with LGBTQIA persons, immigrants, and all people being impacted by the Trump administration’s harmful policies.
