Be A Light! *Serving since 2016* is a non-profit 501c3 corporation established in 2016 to shine THE LIGHT of JESUS CHRIST as we go! Counselors involved with DARE Camp named our new venture: Camp G.L.O.W. – Glorifying God, Leading Youth, Organizing Community, Without Addiction. Through a free overnight camp experience, Camp GLOW will strive to teach Henderson County youth to shine for Jesus, learn
to serve others and stay away from the addictions that can destroy their lives. We will teach the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ as personal savior and model leadership skills that will serve our campers and counselors into adulthood. We will educate on the devastating effects of the misuse of drugs. We will accomplish these goals by using positive role models, building friendships and establishing a support system that goes beyond camp. We will partner with community stakeholders and resources such as churches, schools, law enforcement, medical professionals and others who share a heart for investing in our youth and preventing drug-use. Camp GLOW is held in August each year. Camp is completely free to all participants but will depend on individual and business donations to operate. We are fundraising for the cost of providing camp and 100% of any financial donations go to the running costs of the program. (Camp rental, food, first aid supplies, t-shirts, etc.) There is no cost to attend. Students who are 5th grade and up through college age can attend as campers and then as junior counselors or counselors. We open registration on our website each spring.
