Last weekend the Blended Family Life Group from Long Hollow came out to the Exodus House and spent the day building a fire pit for the guys, and we couldn't be more grateful.
The pictures show the work that was done, but they don't fully capture the love, encouragement, and support this group brings continuously
to Recovery Refuge.
This fire pit will be used for countless conversations, devotionals, laughter, and fellowship. It's more than just a place to sit around a fire, it's another space where relationships can be built and lives can be changed.
To everyone who came out, worked hard, and helped make this happen, thank you. We appreciate you more than you know. The men at Exodus are blessed to have people like you in their corner.
We are thankful for a community that continues to show up, serve, and love on our guys. ❤️

This Sunday, we’re excited to celebrate three incredible men at our Recovery Refuge graduation: Brian, Benny, and Eli.
Brian and Benny completed the program months ago, but life and ministry have kept us busy, and we’re finally getting the opportunity to formally recognize all that God has done in their lives. Today, both of these men serve as House Managers at our Genesis and Exodus homes, helping lead and pour into the next generation of men walking through recovery.
We’ll also be celebrating Eli, who recently completed his seven-month program. During his time at Recovery Refuge, we’ve watched him grow tremendously in his relationship with the Lord and in his recovery journey. Eli recently moved into his own apartment in Hendersonville, a huge milestone, but even though he has his own place now, he’s still family. He remains active in Celebrate Recovery and continues to be a part of the Recovery Refuge brotherhood.
Recovery is about so much more than getting sober. It’s about life change, restoration, purpose, and finding freedom through Christ.
We are incredibly proud of these three men and can't wait to celebrate what God has done in their lives this Sunday. Join us in congratulating Brian, Benny, and Eli!

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone—17 years of sobriety for Adam French!
Adam founded Recovery Refuge out of a heart for people struggling with addiction and a desire to see lives transformed through the hope of Christ. What makes Adam special is that he doesn't just talk about faith and recovery—he lives it every day. He leads by example, loves people well, and never gives up on those who are hurting.
Personally, Adam has been a huge part of my own recovery journey. Even when I was in active addiction, he never gave up on me. He was always willing to answer the phone, speak truth, and remind me there was hope.
I also want to recognize Josie. She has faithfully stood proudly beside (put up with 🤣) Adam! Adam is her partner in both ministry and life. Thank you, Josie, for your love, support, and the countless ways you help make Recovery Refuge possible.
Adam, your life is a testimony to God's faithfulness, and countless lives have been changed because of your willingness to answer His call.
Congratulations on 17 years of sobriety! We love you, brother! ❤️

Gratitude changes everything.
One thing we've learned at Recovery Refuge is that gratitude and recovery go hand in hand.
It's hard to stay focused on what you're missing when you're thankful for what God has already provided.
One of our favorite things is receiving random text messages from the men in our program. Sometimes it's nothing complicated, just a simple message saying, "Thank you for this opportunity," or sharing how grateful they are for another sober day, a new job, restored relationships, or the chance to start over.
Those messages are a reminder that recovery isn't just about breaking free from addiction. It's about learning to see the blessings God has placed in front of us every day.
Gratitude shifts our perspective. It keeps us humble. It reminds us where we've been, how far we've come, and who deserves the credit.
Today, instead of focusing on what's wrong, take a moment to focus on what's right.
👇 Drop a comment and tell us one thing you're grateful for today.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Meet Chris.
For over 15 years, alcohol had a grip on his life. Like so many men who come through our doors, he was tired, broken, and looking for something different.
Today, Chris has 6 months of sobriety and, more importantly, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Recovery isn't just about putting down a drink. It's about finding freedom, purpose, and a new identity in Christ. We've had the privilege of watching Chris grow in his faith, build healthy relationships, and become the man God created him to be.
In this video, Chris shares his story, his struggles, and what God has been doing in his life since coming to Recovery Refuge in January.
Take a few minutes to watch and help us celebrate what God is doing in Chris's life.
We're proud of you, brother. Keep going! 💪

Recovery Fact: Addiction thrives in isolation. Connection is the opposite of addiction.
One of the greatest gifts God gives us in recovery is the support of other people who understand the struggle.
At Recovery Refuge, we believe recovery was never meant to be done alone. When life gets hard, temptation comes, or someone feels like giving up, brotherhood matters. Having men around you who will pray with you, encourage you, challenge you, and hold you accountable can make all the difference.
Many of the men who come through our program spent years isolated from God, family, and healthy relationships. Healing begins when those connections are restored.
Scripture reminds us:
"Two are better than one... If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
That's what we strive to build every day at Recovery Refuge—a community of men helping one another stay strong, grow in their faith, and walk in freedom.
No one recovers alone.

One of the greatest blessings of Recovery Refuge is getting to witness God's redemption in real time.
In February 2025, Benny arrived at Recovery Refuge from Seattle, Washington, directly after being released from incarceration. He came looking for a fresh start and willing to surrender his life to God's plan.
Today, Benny has a career with the local Sheet Metal Union and is currently helping build the new Nissan Stadium. He serves as the House Manager at our Genesis House and faithfully leads by example every day.
This weekend marks a special milestone. Benny flew back to Seattle to watch his daughter graduate high school and reunite with her for the first time since she was 12 years old.
That is what God's grace looks like.
Lives are restored. Families are reunited. Hope is renewed.
Thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, prays, mentors, and supports Recovery Refuge. Stories like Benny's are possible because of your generosity and faithfulness.
We're proud of you, Benny!
