Sometimes acceptance means recognizing that we are not in control. When God calls Moses from the burning bush, Moses has plenty of reasons to question, hesitate, and even resist. Yet God meets Moses where he is and invites him to trust that God will be present for what comes next.

Pastor Theresa explores what it means to let go of our need to have all the answers and let God lead us. Acceptance is not giving up. It is trusting that God is already at work, even when we cannot see where the path is leading.

From the Hebrew midwives who defy Pharaoh to Moses’ mother and sister who protect his life, this story challenges our assumptions about where power comes from and how it should be used. Pastor Theresa explores a different kind of power, one rooted not in control, but in courage, faithfulness, and the willingness to do what is right.

Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee is seeking a part-time Director of Worship and Music to help us create meaningful, participatory, and Christ-centered worship.
We are looking for a collaborative, musically skilled servant leader who can lead congregational singing, work with vocalists and instrumentalists, develop the musical gifts within our congregation, and help us thoughtfully shape the future of our worship ministry.
This position is approximately 15 hours per week, with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Jesus calls the church to make disciples of all nations, reaching beyond our walls to share God’s love and make a difference in the lives of others. The church is not a self-help program. It is a community sent into the world.

As we finish the Together sermon series, Pastor Theresa invites us to see how we can be part of something bigger than ourselves. When we live, serve, and reach out together, we can accomplish far more than we ever could on our own. Through the power of the church community, together we can transform the world.
