Sermon: I Don't Do Church... but Jesus does.
- Church People Are The Problem
Dear SHPH Church,
I hope this finds you reflecting on last Sunday's hard but needed word: church people can be the problem — yet Jesus still loves and is working on His broken bride.
On Sunday we worked through Acts 6 and saw how revival and growth brought real growing pains — complaints, cultural friction, and wounded people. I reminded us that Scripture never airbrushes our failures, that hypocrisy actually confirms Christianity’s diagnosis of humanity, and that the apostles handled conflict with grace and truth by protecting the mission and delegating to Spirit-filled servants. The mess in the church doesn't mean God has left the building; broken people are proof Jesus is still working, and Christ died for a scattered, needy bride, not for a perfect one. Hallelujah.
This week refuse to demand from others the perfection you aren't giving — ask yourself, am I a peacemaker or a fire starter? If you're carrying wounds or a victim mentality, bring them to Jesus: seek forgiveness, offer forgiveness, and invest in people from the inside instead of merely criticizing from the outside. Don’t let a Judas make you walk away; be the kind of Christian you wish the church was full of.
