Hello!

It’s Jayna Russelburg. (I was the last music/youth leader at church before it closed, and I’m currently maintaining the Zion UCC Facebook.)

I know a lot of people from the old Zion UCC are really missing our church - me especially.

So, I had an idea.

I was thinking about organizing a carry-in meal, kinda potluck style like we used to do, on Thanksgiving.

We could invite the unhoused to grab a meal and a to-go boxes. It will be a good community-building opportunity and will help those who need a meal.

The Chloe Randolph Organization is going to let us use their parking lot and I have a tent in case of rain.

Would you be interested in/available for something like that? Either monetarily or by being willing to bring something? I plan to order some items from local restaurants.

If you would like to donate cups, drinks, plasticware, food, or dessert, or if you have a table and a few camp chairs we could borrow like 2-4:30 on Thanksgiving, please shoot me a message.

🏆Henderson County named a Recovery Ready Community 🏆

Henderson County has officially been certified as a Recovery Ready Community, according to a release from Gov. Andy Beshear’s office, a designation that will expand access to treatment and support for those facing drug and alcohol addiction.

With this certification, Henderson becomes the 35th county in Kentucky to earn the Recovery Ready status.

Dale Sights, president & CEO of the Center for Addiction Recovery, said it best:

“No other community has supported recovery like the community of Henderson.”
