Our Sunday School lesson is taken from Daniel chapter 9 this week. It talks about the power of intercessory prayer and how it moves the hand of God.
"I prayed to the Lord and confessed...But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against You and scorned Your commands and regulations. We have refused to listen to Your prophets...Lord, You are right...we are covered with shame because we have sinned against You. But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him...Lord, please turn Your furious anger away...O our God, hear your servant's prayer!" Daniel 9:4-17
Daniel chapter 9 shows us his intercessory prayer for all of Israel. He confessed his sin and the sins of the people against God. He prayed for restoration, and when the people repented, God answered His prayer. We have a Great High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, making intercession for us, His name is Jesus Christ. If we'll have the same heart and mind as Daniel, God will hear our prayers. Selah
