Covenant Baptist Church

Covenant Baptist Church Covenant Baptist Church is a congregation of born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our culture is increasingly impersonal and isolated.

We are a church committed to Biblical Christianity as expressed in the historic 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith. Our name reflects both our understanding of God’s relationship with His people and our desire for genuine relationships with one another. People long for authenticity in their lives, yet much of Christianity seems to lack this quality. We desperately want to see this change, begi

nning with our own lives. Our fellowship goes beyond the superficial because it is based on our common relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Through accountability, prayer, fellowship and encouragement, Christian authenticity and relational depth can be restored. You can learn more about our commitment to one another by reading our church covenant. At Covenant Baptist Church we desire to be joyfully passionate about truth. We believe we learn truth through the Word of God, therefore we are unashamedly biblical in our approach to all areas of life. Many people today scoff at absolute truth, yet each one of us desperately longs to know it and experience the stability, hope and joy it brings. We believe that minds set upon God’s truth will produce hearts blazing with passion to know and experience God. Therefore, we want to be a people who love God with all of our hearts. This love for God is reflected in our longing for deep, God-centered worship. Through vibrant congregational singing, faithful prayer, the reading of Scripture and preaching the whole counsel of God we seek to please God with our worship. We believe God-centered worship is the only thing that will bring joy and refreshment for the soul. Covenant Distinctives

Because of our love of Christ, His gospel and His church, we endeavor to assert our commitment to the central truths of the Reformation and of historic evangelicalism. These truths we affirm not because of their role in our traditions, but because we believe that they are central to the Bible. These are the “heart” of being reformed. The Scriptures Alone (Sola Scriptura)

We affirm the inerrant Scripture to be the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. Christ Alone (Solus Christus)

We affirm that our salvation is accomplished by the mediatorial work of the historical Christ alone. His sinless life and substitutionary atonement alone are sufficient for our justification and reconciliation to the Father. Grace Alone (Sola Gratia)

We affirm that in salvation we are rescued from God’s wrath by His grace alone. It is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that brings us to Christ by releasing us from our bo***ge to sin and raising us from spiritual death to spiritual life. Faith Alone (Sola Fide)

We affirm that justification is by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone. In justification Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us as the only possible satisfaction of God’s perfect justice. To the Glory of God Alone (Soli Deo Gloria)

We affirm that because salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God, it is for God’s glory and that we must glorify Him always. We must live our entire lives before the face of God, under the authority of God and for His glory alone.
