🌱 What a wonderful Thriving Worship!

Yesterday, FCCH gathered around tables, shared a meal, listened to one another, and talked about where God is leading us as we celebrated being part of the Thriving Congregation Initiative. What a joy to experience our Heaven on Earth vision not just as something we talk about, but as something we live together!

And now, we have two important next steps:

1️⃣ Join us for Midweek Discipleship
📅 Wednesday, September 23 at 5:30 PM
Pastor David will share more about our Heaven on Earth vision and help us think about how this vision connects with our life together as a congregation.

2️⃣ Start thinking about YOUR story
We want to hear your stories of Heaven on Earth at FCCH. Think about a time when you experienced God's presence, love, community, or grace through this church. What is a moment that reminds you of Heaven at FCCH?

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday's worship gathering so meaningful. We are grateful for the ways God continues to work in and through this congregation, and we look forward with excitement and hope to all that God will do in and through us in the days ahead! 🌱

Bring your instrument, bring your voice, or simply come ready to enjoy making music together!

📖 6:00 PM — Youth & Adult Bible Studies
We’ll gather in our separate groups for a time of learning, conversation, and discipleship.

🎶 7:00–8:30 PM — Choir Rehearsal
Our choir is back! We’re excited to begin rehearsals for a new season of music ministry.

🌱 What is God calling First Christian Church to become?

Join us this Sunday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. for a special Thriving Worship Service in the Fellowship Hall!

🥐 We’ll start with brunch around the tables and then spend the morning worshiping, listening, and dreaming together.

Our Thriving Leadership Team will share:
• What we’ve been learning through the Thriving Congregation Initiative
• Where we sense God may be leading us next
• How YOU can be part of the journey

We’ll also explore our growing vision:

✨ Making our Church Feel Like Heaven on Earth. ✨

What would it look like for our church to be a place where people experience God’s welcome, grace, justice, reconciliation, belonging, and love—not just someday, but right here and right now?

We’ll commission our Thriving Leadership Team and invite the whole congregation to take the next faithful step together.

🌱 Tonight is the night! Midweek Discipleship kicks off at FCCH!

We’re excited to begin a new rhythm of gathering, growing, and connecting together each Wednesday.

🍽️ 5:30 PM — Community Meal
We’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall for a light meal and a chance to share some good food and fellowship together.

📖 6:00–7:00 PM — Bible Study
We’ll then break into Youth Bible Study and Adult Bible Study, creating space for all ages to grow deeper in faith and explore God’s Word together.

Whether you’ve been part of our church for years or you’re joining us for the first time, you are invited!

Come as you are, bring a friend, and join us as we begin this new journey of Midweek Discipleship together.

📣Announcing Midweek Discipleship! Expanding Wednesday Evenings📣

FCCH is excited to announce the expansion of our Wednesday evening programming beginning September 2!

Each Wednesday, we’ll gather at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for a different church-wide opportunity to build community, deepen relationships, and grow in discipleship:

🍽️ First Wednesdays – Gathering Around the Table
We’ll share a meal together and enjoy the simple, deeply Christian practice of gathering around the table, breaking bread, and getting to know one another.

🎶 Second Wednesdays – Jesus Jam
Bring your instrument, your voice, or simply yourself! Elliot Myers and Pastor David will lead us in easy, three-chord songs as we make a joyful noise together.

🕊️ Third Wednesdays – Contemplative Prayer
We’ll slow down through silence, Scripture, reflection, prayer, and music - creating space to listen for God’s Spirit.

📖 Fourth Wednesdays – Learning Together
Each month will bring a different lesson or learning opportunity, giving us the chance to explore, ask questions, grow in faith, and learn from one another.

🤲 Fifth Wednesdays – Serving Together
When a month gives us a fifth Wednesday, we’ll put our faith into action through a service project in our church and community.

Then, at 6:00 p.m., our regular Wednesday evening ministries will continue with Youth Group and pastor-led Bible study. This year’s new curriculum will follow the lectionary, allowing children, youth, and adults to continue reflecting on the same Scripture throughout the week.

Choir rehearsal remains at 7:00 p.m. (beginning September 9).

We hope Wednesday nights will become a time when our whole church family can come together—with different gifts, interests, and experiences, but with one shared purpose: to grow closer to God and closer to one another.
