Join us in prayer for the Bamford family!

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Commissioner Lorraine Bamford has been Promoted to Glory.

We thank God for her faithful service, steadfast commitment to His calling, and the lasting impact of her ministry within The Salvation Army.

Our prayers are with her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her years of service.

May we find comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, and may her legacy of faithfulness continue to inspire generations to come.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23a

September is Hunger Action Month - a time to come together in the fight against hunger and care for our neighbors ❤️

May we continue to share what we have and help put food on the table for families across Greater New York - not just this month, but all year long.

“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” - Luke 3:11 🙏

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us from September 15 to October 15. Pictured here is Felipe Machado (1938-2013), a Uruguayan-born Salvationist who trained to be an officer in Puerto Rico in the 1970s, at the CFOT extension school. He is pictured here visiting an elderly lady in San Juan. Lt. Colonels Felipe and Daisy Machado were appointed to be the first coordinators for Hispanic Ministries in the USA Eastern Territory, then divisional commanders of Puerto Rico, and finally the leaders of the Mexico Command (now Mexico Territory). Though the seasons may change, our call to love and serve others remains 🍂❤️

As summer turns to fall, may we continue to look for opportunities to lend a helping hand, care for our neighbors and make a difference in our communities.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” - Isaiah 40:8 🙏
