“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.” Ephesians 2:8-10

Ladies, our women's Bible study group will begin a new study on Tuesday, February 27th, from 10-11 AM at Christ Community Baptist Church. The title of the new study is What if Jesus Meant What He Said written by Nate Bramsen. All women are welcome and encouraged to attend. For more information please contact us at the church office at 979-270-3195.

What if Jesus words were never intended to fit into your existing lifestyle? What if they were meant to change everything? What if Jesus never wanted merely part of your life? What if He wants everything? Instead of offering easy answers, these pages ask difficult questions, leading the reader on a journey with life-altering implications. If Jesus meant what He said, how might His words affect our relationships, investments, speech, perspectives, discipleship, spiritual disciplines, and every other aspect of life? What if the only balanced Christian life is all-out surrender to Jesus Christ?

We hope to see you there!

Today, please pray for Yemen. Leaving Islam to become a Christian in Yemen carries a death penalty. Christian converts are harassed, can lose their jobs, and be cut off from their families if they aren’t put to death. They have to meet secretly either in homes or outdoors in small groups. However, the number of believers is growing weekly, as Christians are boldly reaching out to Muslims.
Pray for Christians in Yemen that they will be wise and yet even bolder in their outreach. Pray for protection and encouragement. Thank God that many are counting Jesus worthy of their very lives!!

At least 18 Christians were murdered when Boko Haram militants attacked a village in Cameroon. Some of the Christians were hacked to pieces with machetes, others shot with rifles.
Pray for the survivors, some of whom were also injured. Pray that they will trust Jesus for comfort and for the power to forgive the perpetrators. Pray also for the militants that they will surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.

New religious regulations have led to more restrictions on unregistered churches in China. Hundreds of churches have been forced to close and pastors etc arrested or detained. In the past few years, the government has installed over 100 million facial recognition cameras to identify worshippers. Children of Christian parents are refused an education. Bibles are not readily available. And still, Christians refuse to deny Christ and compromise the gospel.
Pray that our Chinese brothers and sisters will remain strong, encourage one another, and shine a light even in the darkness of this vast nation. Pray for protection for their children and families.

Sorry, I missed posting yesterday, but it won’t hurt to pray for two different areas today.
First, Tajikistan (you might want to look it up on your map; it borders China on the west side) is a predominantly Muslim country. The majority of the population is younger than 30.
Tajiks who convert to Christianity are persecuted by their families and the government. They are sometimes beaten and sometimes summoned to appear at the local secret police office. They are not allowed to teach their children any religion. Most Christians have no Bible. Pray for encouragement and boldness as well as peace and continued reliance on God.

Syria is a war wracked country. Churches in Syria have been able to reach out in the midst of the war to offer hope to those apart from Christ. Since 2011, many Muslims have have come to Christ. Some Islamist groups want to drive Christians out of the country. The Christians face loss of jobs, homes, social standing and family relationships. Many have left the country, but some of the Christians have chosen to stay in the country to serve others, despite the danger and harsh conditions. Pray that they will remain strong and loving and that bitterness will not get a root in their lives.
