Alice Faye Poston Young, affectionately known as Alice Faye, left this world on November 18, 2024, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on May 11, 1946, in Hemingway, SC, to the late John Davis (Ozell) Poston and Alice Verlene (Tincey) Creel Poston, Alice Faye was a spitfire who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her stories, her laughter, and her love will continue to resonate with us, reminding us to live fully, speak honestly, and cherish every moment with those we hold dear.
Alice Faye's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her work. She was the beloved wife of the late Hollis Young, and together they shared a love that was both deep and enduring.
In her professional life, Alice Faye was a respected figure, having retired as a Store Manager from Mingo Esso after more than four decades of dedicated service. Her work ethic and leadership were an inspiration to her colleagues, and her presence at the store is one that will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Alice Faye was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, and her brothers Kenny, Maxey, and Larry Poston. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children, Wendy Pope (Richard), Buffie Level (Kirk), Kay Davis (Russell), and a daughter of her heart, Beverly Ann Poston. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Megan, Matt (Angela), Malony, Mara, Morgan (Josh), Mason, and Joshua, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen Richardson (Nicky) and Sherry Cunningham, her brother Jerry Poston (Jeanette), and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Alice Faye's love for her family was matched only by her love for her beloved dog, Little Bit, who was a constant and loving companion.
A member of Poplar Hill FWB Church, her interests extended beyond the walls of the church. She had a passion for the beauty of flowers and the tranquility of fishing, a pastime she enjoyed immensely with her late husband Hollis. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and laughter in equal measure.
As we bid farewell to Alice Faye Poston Young, we celebrate a life lived with gusto and authenticity.
