THANK YOU TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 💙

Some partnerships just feel like family, and Trinity Lutheran Church is exactly that to us.

Over the years Trinity Lutheran has shown up for Valley Community Pantry and for this community in ways that go far beyond a single act of kindness. Their continued support, generosity, and heart for serving others has made a lasting impact on the families and neighbors we serve every day.

They don’t just talk about community, they live it. And we are so grateful to have them walking alongside us in this mission. 💙

To the congregation, leadership, and everyone at Trinity Lutheran who has given their time, resources, and heart to this valley, THANK YOU. You are seen, you are appreciated, and this community is better because of you.

With so much love and gratitude,
Valley Community Pantry 💙

Happy Sunday!

01/11/2026

Today we remember the Baptism of Jesus a moment when heaven opens,
the Spirit descends, and a voice names what is already true:

“You are my beloved.”

Before Jesus heals, teaches, or calls disciples, he is claimed in love.

In our own baptisms, we too are named and sent—not to prove ourselves, but to live from the deep assurance that we belong to God.

May the waters remind us: we are beloved, and we are called.

On this Twelfth Night, the songs soften, the candles burn low, and Christmas prepares to give way to Epiphany.

The story does not end—it opens outward.

May the love born in Bethlehem shine through us
as Christ’s light is revealed anew.

Happy New year!

01/01/2026

On the first day of a new year,
the Church speaks a name:

Jesus—
a name given not for power,
but for healing;
not for fear,
but for love that saves and sets free.

As we step into this year,
we do so trusting the promise carried in that name:
God is with us,
and grace goes before us.

May the name of Jesus
shape our living with mercy, courage, and hope.

Dec. 31 is historically St. Sylvester’s Day, a commemoration of the fourth-century bishop of Rome. While Sylvester was serving as bishop, the First Council of Nicaea convened in 325. We join the church around the world and throughout time when we say:

I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth
and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried.
And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures
and ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead,
whose kingdom will have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified,
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church,
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins,
and I look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

In anticipation of the celebration of 1,700 years of the council and its creed next year, we pray today for the continued steadfast confession of Christ’s Church: Almighty God, grant to Your Church Your Holy Spirit and the wisdom that comes down from above, that Your Word may not be bound but have free course and be preached to the joy and edifying of Christ’s holy people, so that in steadfast faith we may serve You and, in the confession of Your name, abide unto the end; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

As this year draws to a close,
the promise of Christmas remains.

God is with us—
in what has been,
in what is unfinished,
and in all that is yet to come.

We step forward trusting the Light
that no darkness can overcome.
