On Sunday we celebrated the dedicated service of one of our key servants, Walter Fedchuck. He has been a "fixture of faithfulness" for many seasons of life here at Cornerstone. While he is "retiring" from our staff, he will continue to provide leadership for ministry in Ukraine through Good Samaritan Mission. Godspeed to you our brother!

Last Sunday, Pastor Glen finished up the story of Ruth by focusing on chapter 4. It is a powerful story that shows how God redeems our broken stories and weaves them into His salvation story through the work of Jesus Christ.

The story ends with Boaz joyfully proclaiming that he would redeem both the
property and the posterity of Elimelech, and take Ruth, the woman he loved, as his wife. Boaz had a love for Ruth that was public, a love that wanted to be publicly witnessed and registered among the people.

It is important to understand that Jesus is our nearest kinsman and has the willingness and the power to redeem us. Boaz’s public proclamation foreshadows Jesus’ public redemption for our sins.
