Please join us in prayer for CJ White and his operation tomorrow morning!

September 2 will be a big day for the White family. Will you join us in prayer? 💙

Around 5 am, CJ and LeighAnne will head to UAB for CJs cranioplasty—the surgery to reattach the missing part of CJs skull.

Surgery should take a few hours, and he is expected to stay overnight in the neurological ICU for a night or two afterwards.

If you would, help us pray for several things:

💙that CJs body would accept and respond well to the surgery.
💙that CJ’s rehabilitation would progress significantly because of the surgery—physically and cognitively.
💙that his family would feel the Lord’s peace and care during the hours of the surgery and the recovery to follow.

God has brought CJ and his family through so much since March, and we know God will continue to work in the days ahead. Thank you for every prayer on the White’s behalf!

As the month of August comes to a close, we are thankful for all that the Lord has been doing at Gospel Light Baptist Church!

Over the past few weeks, we were blessed to have visits from two of our missionary families. The Dwire family, missionaries to Uganda, and the Murdock family, missionaries to Germany, shared with us about the work the Lord is doing in their respective fields. What an encouragement it was to hear how God is working around the world!

Throughout the month, Pastor Bohman continued his series through Nehemiah, challenging us from God’s Word to remain faithful and keep building for the Lord. We also had the privilege of hearing encouraging messages from several guest preachers, including local pastors Steve Kilpatrick and Ryan Wood, Jeremy Rowland of Baptist Church Planting Ministry, and John Yancey with Tri-State Baptist College.

Please keep CJ White and his family in your prayers this week as he prepares for an important surgery on September 2. We ask that you pray for God’s hand upon the surgery, wisdom for the doctors, a full recovery for CJ, and peace and strength for him and his family.

We are thankful for another month of God’s goodness and faithfulness. To God be the glory!
