Big Sky Unitarian Universalists (BSUU)

Big Sky Unitarian Universalists (BSUU) BSUU is a Lay Led Welcoming Fellowship. We meet at 11:30-12:30 Sunday at 400 South Oakes, Helena. Onc

-We are a welcoming, supportive fellowship that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, and social needs of our members and friends.
-We encourage the free exploration of inspirational experiences, diverse beliefs, and a variety of religious traditions.
-We don't impose any creed; rather, we encourage each person to choose her or his own beliefs and spirituality amid the support of a caring communit

y.
-We are a "lay-led" congregation, which means we don't have a minister; rather, our members and friends volunteer to lead services on a variety of topics.
-We occasionally have guest ministers who visit us from neighboring congregations in Montana and the Mountain Desert District of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Lynda would like to thank everyone who donated reading glasses for the Senior Center in Santiago Atitlán Guatemala. Some of the ladies here do beadwork or embroidery to earn a little money and many took a pair, including Dolores pictured here. BSUU members do great work all around the world!

It's that time of year again! This Sunday, January 12th, 11:30am is the Annual Meeting. There will be a short service led by the BSUU Board with the theme of New Beginnings. Then, we will adjourn to downstairs where we'll share a meal of lasagna (vegetarian and omnivore varieties) and salad, and hold our Annual meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to vote on new board members, hear committee reports from the standing committees (Worship, Social Justice, FUUN, SUURCH, YUUTH & CUUFEE CLUUB.)

Our treasurer Ken will review the proposed church budget for 2025, discussion will follow, with a final vote to approve the budget. This meeting can be lengthy, so expect that it will last till 2 pm or possibly longer if absolutely necessary. After the meal, the children will be kept engaged upstairs to allow the parents to fully participate in the meeting. (The annual meeting is a legal requirement in maintaining our non-profit status, and an opportunity to vote on the coming year's board leadership, and new budget. Plus, to ensure transparency, we want everyone in the loop about our own "deep state." Official members have voting privileges, but all in our fellowship are invited to attend the meeting to participate in the lively discussions that determine our future.)
