Hannaford Youth, grades 6-12, join us tomorrow for our new Sunday Study. Redeemed: Flawed Foundations will be discussing the Christmas Story and the birth of Jesus, but focusing on the genealogy found in Matthew and how Jesus was able to redeem not only the individuals, but also the genealogy as a whole. Day 6- the last one!
This was a short day and very bittersweet, but a wonderful end to such an amazing journey. This morning our team got to visit One Challenge International HQ and learn what it looks like to work behind the scenes of the mission field. We got a sneak peak into the training that happens to prepare new missionaries, as well as hear from a few director about their roles. It was a great informational experience and we all walked away from it having a clearer picture of the beautiful world of missions.
After our morning at OCI, we returned to our airbnb for a little while before going out for an afternoon of fun at an adventure park. Arcade games, zip lines, trampolines, and more. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to do these fun activities, and our immersion in the world of homelessness has led us all to appreciate these gifts on a much deeper level.
We ended our evening with a Bible study and debrief of the week. Tomorrow morning, we pack up and start the journey home!
Our team is feeling a mixture of excitement to return, and sadness to leave this community. This has been a life-changing experience and our prayer is that when we return home, our eyes will remain open to see and serve those who need the love of Jesus as much as anyone else.
In the morning we drive to Casper, Wyoming where we will stay the night. Then bright and early Wednesday, we’ll be back on the road and driving the final stretch home!
Stay tuned for one final update where we will share a compilation of our team’s favorite moments from this mission! :)

Here’s a few more pics from yesterday- and an update on Day 5!
This morning we attended Discovery Church with the Hendersons and had the privilege of meeting their lovely church leaders.

After church, we returned to Springs Rescue Mission where we broke into our groups of 3 and walked from there to the park, stopping to connect with the homeless along the way. Today we brought with us some little books of the gospels to give to whoever the Lord lead us to; and to our delight, we came across a few of the people that we got to know and love on Thursday.

A couple of us were deeply encouraged to see how God has worked in the life of a man we prayed for just the other day. Upon greeting him this afternoon, he was beaming with joy, wearing clean clothes and was in possession of several new things to keep him comfortable. He said that after he had been prayed with on Thursday, the Lord provided for him through more strangers and he has slept more comfortably than he has in a long time. We enjoyed the gift of sitting with him and a couple other familiar faces in such a way that it felt like we were old friends. God is at work in this community and it was such an encouragement to us to reunite after our encounters and share about all the people the Lord led us to today.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who has been praying for us on this mission! It has been and continues to be a deeply changing and growing experience for all of us, and what a joy it is to see the Lord working in and through this community!

Day 4- our free day!
We got up this morning and had the wonderful opportunity to ride a train up to Pike’s Peak. After lunch, we visited Garden of the Gods Park to hike around for a little bit. After spending the afternoon out in the sun, the girls spent time together visiting some stores and playing games at the house while the guys enjoyed a professional soccer game. We are all feeling regenerated and looking forward to spending the Lord’s day with new friends.
(I will likely share more pictures from today in tomorrow’s update!)

Day 3!
This was a project day! We met at a local church this morning to help with building/landscaping projects through the afternoon. We made lots of new friends and had the opportunity to hear some amazing stories about how their ministry has grown.
Following our work projects, we took a drive through Colorado Springs, stopping at various places to pray over the lives in the city. Whether wealthy or poor- we all are in need of Jesus.

Praises!
- for the wonderful friendships made at the church today.
- for the progress made on their church grounds.
- for all of the work God has done in the hearts of these students!

Prayer requests:
- for continued health/wellbeing of our team.
- for the friendships within our team to be deepened as we spend our free day together tomorrow.
- for the growth of local ministries in Colorado Springs.

Check back tomorrow to see how we spend our break day!

Day 2 was nothing short of incredible.
Today, we went out in groups of 3 to get to know and hear the stories of people everywhere who are without a home. We sat with those on the sidewalks, in the park, on the benches, and all over. We asked their names. We heard their stories. We saw them for who they are- fellow image bearers- and our goal was to know them and leave them feeling seen and heard. In some of our encounters, the Lord opened windows of opportunity to share the gospel. We were blessed, every one of us, to encounter people who welcomed us to pray over them and to share the love of Jesus with them. We experienced connections with people that we’ve never experienced before- and every one of us is ending this day feeling impacted by those we met.

Prayer requests:
- that the seeds we planted would bear fruit in the hearts of the people we encountered today.
- that each of them would come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
- that they would find their hope in the Lord.
- that He provides each of them a home and a community.

We don’t have many pictures from today as it was our goal to focus solely on getting to know and love the people around us. But here’s a couple captured moments as we ended our adventure in the city and debriefed in the evening.

Day 1 in Colorado Springs is wrapping up! Lets recap.
This morning, we met with our dear friends Rich & Marla (wonderful missionaries that Hannaford supports) to discuss how the week is going to look and enjoyed fellowship together. Then we left to head to Outreach training- a very eye-opening and touching experience. Following our training, we ventured on to Springs Rescue Mission to visit the homeless and pray over their lives and their ministry.
We’re now back at our airbnb and have spent the evening enjoying each other’s company and discussion time.
We’re all feeling energized, excited and ready to take on another day! Thank you all for your continued prayers. Stay tuned!
