One huge benefit of our small, local VBS Program here in Alden-Hebron is that it currently is and always has been FREE for all families! Luckily for our loving & giving community we have never had to impose a fee for anyone to enjoy a week of learning, music & more with others about God’s love. Please consider supporting our wonderful program so we may buy all supplies needed for a week of amazing fun! Supplies include: curriculum, snacks, decorations & more!

It is with deep sorrow that we inform our church family and friends of the passing of our dear Pastor Char Hoffmann. We are asking for prayers for her husband Glenn, her family, and for the many people who knew and loved Pastor Char who are feeling this loss so painfully.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 960 W Army Trail Road, Addison, IL on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with fellowship to follow.

He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!

The darkness did not have the final word. It never does.

Resurrection is God's yes to this world, spoken over everything that tried to say no. That suffering will not win. That love is still moving, still healing, still making room for every life to flourish.

Christ is risen. Death did not win.

We are Easter people. And the work of resurrection is ours to join.

On this MLK Day, we remember that peace is not passive. As Dr. King reminds us, “True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.”

Justice requires courage, honesty, and a willingness to keep showing up, especially when it would be easier to stay comfortable. We believe this is holy work, and it is work that is unfinished.

Let us continue to tell the truth, repair harm, and choose love that is active, public, and rooted in justice.
