SSBC Church family, we thank God for His never ending goodness to His Church. As we prepare to see Bro. Elwin enter his well deserved retirement, we also trust God to send His next man to shepherd us.
Members, please have your nomination forms for the pastor search committee turned in by the end of morning worship service this Sunday, May 24. Continue to pray for God’s guidance. We are thankful for Bro. Elwin’s faithfulness to You.

Selection process begins this Sunday evening at the monthly business meeting.

Good Resurrection Morning!

Pastor's Pen:

A great day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!! As I said this past Sunday everyday should be a celebration of the resurrection of our Lord.

We should always be giving thanks. "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20 (KJV) The word "always' means to me that it should be every day.

Everyday should be a day of communication with our Lord. Paul wrote "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching in the Spirit, and watching with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) There is the word "always" again. It means not just one day of the year, one day of the month, one day of the week but every day.

We need to let the Lord lead us today by His Holy Spirit to an every day celebration in His Word and with communication with Him. May you and l see the need today to be guided by His Word and His Spirit to that of celebration of His resurrection every day.

We need to be ready every day as the Word tells us. We need not to be ready just one day here and another day there but every day. "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) God's Word in this verse tells us that we should
"always" be ready to share His Word when asked.

If you are not in celebration every day with our Lord and His resurrection, we will not be equipped and ready as we should be. People should be seeing the celebration of Jesus on our faces by our actions and our love for others. Are you celebrating the resurrection of our Lord every day?

May we share the Word that God has given us. By the way, you and I have to be in the Word if we are going to share the Word. Jesus should be in our hearts and we are to be ready as we find in 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV).

We praise the Lord because "HE IS RISEN!!" Have a great week and may we celebrate "Resurrection Day" every day. Psalm 118:24

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105
