Joe Andrews Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath. Calling hours will be two hours prior to the service from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The committal service will be at Noon on Friday, in Jerome Cemetery, 10760 Jerome Road, Plain City, Ohio 43064.

Hey, NBT family! I've got to share tonight's treat with you. Tonight, Sherry and I attended church at the Metropolitan Tabernacle Baptist Church in London where Charles Haddon Spurgeon pastored. The pastor preached from Genesis 18 and 19 on keeping the church from the corruption of the world (an application of Lot's experience in S***m).

After the service, a kind man introduced himself and asked if we'd like to meet "our pastor." Of course, we wanted to. Dr. Peter Masters has pastored the Tabernacle since 1970. We were escorted to his office where we sat and shared conversation for a while. Mrs. Masters joined us, too. Large paintings of former pastors (including Spurgeon) adorned the walls, and Spurgeon’s "desk" (pulpit) was under his portrait. Dr. Masters allowed Sherry to take some pictures.

While their services are more formal than ours and we would differ on Calvin’s theology, this church is intensely evangelistic, and Dr. Masters assured me that they believe and practice “the universal tender of salvation.” In other words, they offer the gospel to all men. Of course, we would say, “Why not?” Christ died for all (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2; Hebrews 2:9). It was a privilege to be a part of the service tonight and to meet faithful servants Peter and Jill Masters.
