ALL ABOARD!

Every one of us is searching for forgiveness, hope, purpose, and a place where we truly belong. Left to ourselves, we can spend a lifetime searching.

The good news is that Jesus has already found us.

He is the faithful Captain who entered our broken world, died for our sins, rose again in victory, and now calls people from every nation aboard His Church—the Steward Ship. He welcomes us not because we have earned a place, but because He has purchased one for us through His cross and resurrection. Here we receive His forgiveness, life, and salvation. Here He forms us into faithful stewards and sends us into the world with His love and His Good News.

This Sunday we launch All Aboard!—a new series exploring Christian stewardship through one simple pattern:

R.M.S.

Receive God's gifts with gratitude.
Manage God's gifts with faithfulness.
Share God's gifts and God's Good News with the world.

Like the great Royal Mail Ships (R.M.S.), entrusted with delivering the King's mail across the oceans, Christ has entrusted us with an even greater treasure—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every believer has a place on board. Every steward has a purpose. Every voyage advances the King's mission until our Captain brings us safely home.

Whether you've followed Jesus for years or are just exploring the Christian faith, this adventure is for you. Bring your questions. Bring your family. Bring a friend. Your children are invited to Christian Education for the Young at 10:00 a.m., and after worship we invite everyone to stay for fellowship.

Come aboard the Steward Ship. Receive the King's gifts. Join the King's mission. There is a place for you.

Have you ever wanted to turn back because moving forward felt too difficult?

The Israelites knew that feeling. God had rescued them from slavery in Egypt, carried them through the wilderness, and brought them to the edge of the Promised Land. Yet when they saw the challenges ahead, fear overwhelmed their faith. They cried out, complained against their leaders, and said, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt” (Numbers 14:4).

Egypt had been a place of suffering, but fear made the past look safer than God’s promised future.

We sometimes do the same thing. When the road becomes uncertain, we may return to old habits, old fears, old grudges, or old ways of thinking. We may resist change, avoid the next faithful step, or forget how faithfully God has already carried us.

This Sunday’s message is:

“Don’t Turn Back When Christ Is Leading Forward.”

When fear tempts us to retreat to what Christ has already delivered us from, Jesus calls us to trust His promises and follow Him forward.

Where is Christ asking you to trust Him today? What fear is keeping you from taking the next faithful step? What are you tempted to return to—even though Jesus has already set you free?

Come hear God’s Word, receive His encouragement, join in prayer, and worship with a community learning to follow Jesus together. Bring your questions, burdens, fears, family, and friends. There is a place for you at the table.

Life may take us through uncertain places, but Christ knows the way. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, trust His promises, and move forward together.

Don’t turn back. Christ is leading forward—and He is faithful.

Dear Friends,

Have you ever wished life came with a map?

There are seasons when the road ahead feels uncertain. A medical diagnosis changes everything. A loved one dies. A child makes unexpected choices. Retirement brings new questions. A difficult decision leaves us wondering, "Lord, what should I do?"

The Bible has a name for those moments: the wilderness.

The good news is that God never leaves His people to wander alone.

This Sunday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, we'll explore God's promise from Joshua 1:7–9 in a message titled:

Guidance in God's Wilderness
When Life Feels Like a Wilderness, God Guides Us by His Word and Leads Us Safely Home.

Together we'll discover how:

God's Word becomes our compass when life feels uncertain.
God's presence gives us courage for the next faithful step.
Jesus, our Good Shepherd, walks with us through every wilderness and leads us safely home.

🇺🇸 Following worship on July 5, we celebrated America’s 250th Independence Anniversary.

We thank God for the many blessings He has poured out on our nation and pray for His continued guidance and grace.

By all accounts, the June 11 Prune Packers baseball game was a great success! About 20 Little Leaguers braved the sweltering 104° heat to enjoy a fun-filled evening at the ballpark.

The Prune Packers players were wonderful with the children — signing autographs, playing whiffle ball and catch, and spending time talking and listening with them.

Good Shepherd received many mentions throughout the game from the in-house announcer as the sponsor of the event, and Little Lambs Preschool was highlighted several times as well. It was a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, community connection, and sharing the joy of Good Shepherd with others.

Who or what is shaping the hearts of the people around us?

Every day, influence flows from someone or something. Voices shape attitudes. Songs shape hearts. Fear shapes decisions. Communities shape values. And whether we realize it or not, our lives are shaping the people around us.

This Sunday, join us for Family Worship as we explore the powerful influence of worship through the life and songs of David.

In 2 Samuel 6, the Bible says:

“David danced before Yahweh with all his might.”
— 2 Samuel 6:14 (WEB)

David understood something many people have forgotten: the presence of God changes people. His worship, faith, repentance, courage, and songs shaped a nation and inspired generations. David’s life reminds us that worship is not merely music during a church service—it is a life surrendered to God that influences homes, neighborhoods, and communities.

And our communities need that kind of influence today.

Many people are quietly struggling with loneliness, discouragement, anxiety, division, and spiritual emptiness. The world often responds with louder opinions and deeper division. But God offers a different answer.

God changes communities by changing people.

This Sunday we will discover how God uses ordinary people to become visible examples of hope through wholehearted worship and Christ-centered living.

Every person faces battles in life.

Some battles are visible. Others are hidden deep within the heart. Many people today are carrying fear, discouragement, stress, uncertainty, grief, temptation, loneliness, or exhaustion. We often try to appear strong on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside.

That is why the life of David speaks so clearly to us today.

David was not victorious because he was perfect. He faced giants, enemies, betrayal, failure, fear, and seasons of deep pain. Yet through every season, David learned to trust the Lord as his Shepherd, refuge, defender, and song.

Before David ever stood before Goliath publicly, he learned to trust God privately. And that changed everything.

When others saw a giant, David saw an opportunity for God to show His power. David declared with confidence, “The battle is the Lord’s.” His victory did not come from his own strength. It came from faith in the living God.

That is why David sang.

The Psalms of David are not shallow songs written during easy times. They are songs born in caves, wilderness seasons, battles, tears, worship, repentance, and trust. David sang when he was afraid, when he was victorious, when he needed mercy, and when he remembered God’s faithfulness.

His songs continue to strengthen God’s people today.

This Sunday we will hear words from the Psalms that have encouraged generations:

“The Lord is my shepherd.”
“The Lord is my light and my salvation.”
“I will bless the Lord at all times.”
“He trains my hands for battle.”

These songs remind us that faith is not pretending life is easy. Faith is learning to trust God in the middle of the struggle.

This Sunday’s Family Worship service will include Scripture, prayer, encouragement, worship, and songs of victory for all generations. Children, youth, adults, grandparents, neighbors, and guests are all welcome.

Family Worship begins at 9:30 AM, followed by fellowship and encouragement together as a church family. Stay after worship to meet new people, enjoy conversation, pray together, and continue growing in faith and community.

Wake Up to the Music of David

What you listen to shapes what you live for. Every heart has a playlist: fear, hurry, distraction, regret, comparison, anger, or worry. But David’s heart was tuned to something better. Before he faced Goliath, he remembered the God who had already helped him. Before he took revenge on Saul, he honored God’s authority. After he sinned, he heard God’s Word, confessed, and received mercy.

David was not perfect, but he was awake to God.

This Sunday, we continue our DAVID series with the letter A: Awareness. We will see how God awakens our hearts through His Word, worship, and Holy Communion. Jesus, the Son of David and our Good Shepherd, calls us to turn down the noise and listen again to His voice. When we are awake to Christ, fear loses power, mercy becomes personal, and our lives begin to shine with His light.

So, come as you are. Bring your weariness, your questions, your family, and your need for grace. The Good Shepherd is here to forgive, restore, lead, and awaken us to life in Him.
