I want to be transparent and real just for a moment. Those of you who pastor, and have pastored, a smaller church, knows the struggle it is to pay for anything. You save up hoping to get something the church needs, just to have, maybe, an insurance bill come due, and 800 dollars drains the account. I won’t lie, I’ll visit other churches, and see them take up an offering, knowing, their one service worth of giving, is what we may make in a whole month….. maybe… and that’s a big maybe.
You get by, by the skin of your teeth, always having God make provisions, but just trusting He is going to come thru when things come due. Many times it came out of my husbands secular job, but that has always been okay with us, ministry is our most important job no matter what.
After years and years of saving, I told my husband, two days ago, that our church was at a place we could finally purchase some tables. I knew it would drain the account pretty much, but we had just enough extra, to get tables that we desperately needed, with our back to school event happening. I didn’t tell my husband because I knew he would stress, instead I expressed to God what we needed, and that He makes a way when there seems to be no way.
We headed to Sam’s got our tables, giddy like two kids in a candy store, excited with what we were able to do, what has been needing to be done for sooooo long.
Once we loaded them up and got in the truck my husband looks down at his phone and then looks back up with me with tears in his eyes. We received a message, that our tables had been counted, and prices were looked up, and that Eastflow Church Pastor Darren Givens wanted to pay back the amount we had spent on our tables. Mind you we need chairs for these tables, but knew we just couldn’t get them today. We just knew God would make a way soon, so that we would have chairs for people to sit at the new tables 🥹 now we can do that because of the brotherly love and kindness shown from another church.
Your donation will forever be imprinted on the hearts of my husband, myself, and on the hearts of those who attend Fresh Anointing Of Hazlehurst. We will be praying abundant blessings for your loving kindness and generosity. (How precious are the feet of those who not only strive to build the kingdom of God in their city, but for those in others). A million thank yous would not suffice for how we feel, but know that we love and appreciate your gift to our precious people.
