1st Wed night fellowship meal and we had a great turnout and service. Hurley House cooked us up some great fried chicken and trimmings and it was definitely “comfort food”!
It was very encouraging as we move into a new year, and we all want to “step it up” and purpose to grow in our faith, walk, and commitment.
We had almost 90 in attendance and I don’t think it was all for Joey’s fried chicken. 😉
The title of my message was “Confident In Who?” Maybe a simple Word, but an always NEEDED one. It’s very easy to be knocked off track in life when people and circumstances let you down.
But, one thing I KNOW….God WILL never let us down. We can HAVE CONFIDENCE in that truth.
Here are a few of the scriptures I shared without my commentary, but I believe the Word will speak for itself. Read, meditate, and be encouraged.
AND….if you are looking for a great church family to be a part of, I know a great one!

Psalm 57:7-11 “My heart is CONFIDENT in You, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing Your praises! Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing Your praises among the nations. For Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May Your glory shine over all the earth.”
Psalm 27:1-3 “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain CONFIDENT.”
Ephesians 3:12-13 “Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and CONFIDENTLY into God’s presence. So please don’t lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored.”
Hebrews 4:16 “Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with CONFIDENCE, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.”
1 John 5:14-15 “And we are CONFIDENT that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.”
(*This one definitely for me) 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 “We are CONFIDENT of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of His new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.”
Hebrews 10:35-36 “So do not throw away this CONFIDENT trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.”
