A new chapter of leadership begins for the Midwestern District Council! 🙏🏾💙

We are excited to introduce the new Executive Board who will serve our Council for the next four years. This moment is especially significant as, for the first time, two women are serving simultaneously as our 1st and 2nd Vice Chairmen — District Elder Tanya Brown and Dr. Nia Hunn.

We celebrate every leader who has answered the call to serve, and we look forward with expectation to seeing how God will use their gifts, wisdom, experience, and leadership to strengthen our Council and further the work of the Kingdom.

As we enter this next season, let’s do more than congratulate them — let’s cover them in prayer. Pray for wisdom in every decision, unity as they serve together, strength for the work ahead, and God’s direction for our Council.

May God continue to lead our Diocesan Bishop Larry O. Jones and the entire Executive Board as they serve His people.

We’re taking it all the way back to 1992! 👀

The MDC Choir at the PAW Summer Convention — robes on, choir full, and praise going UP. 🙌🏾

Who still has choir robes at their church? 👀 Did y’all keep the tradition going, or have the robes officially been retired?

Now for the PAW history buffs: Who was serving as Presiding Bishop in 1992? 🤔 (Think Summer Convention before the new adminstration took place).

And look closely at those faces! 🔎 Do you recognize anybody? Tag them, call their name, or tell us what you remember about this era.

Styles change. Choir robes come and go. But the sound, the fellowship, and the legacy of praise? That part carries on. 🙌🏾

Today, we honor the Ushers of our Council—our faithful door keepers whose ministry begins long before worship starts.

Your ministry is so much more than opening doors. You open hearts, extend love, create order, and set the atmosphere for worship before a word is preached. Through every warm welcome, helping hand, and act of service, you reflect the heart of Christ and remind us that every person who enters is valued.

To every usher across our Council, thank you for your faithfulness, excellence, and commitment to serving God's people. Your service may begin at the door, but your impact reaches throughout the entire house.

Some moments deserve more than applause—they deserve celebration.

Today, we honor and celebrate those whose leadership, service, generosity, and commitment to the Kingdom have been recognized in extraordinary ways.

✨ Congratulations to the Midwestern District Council International Missions Department on receiving the Leading Giver Award for its generous commitment to advancing International Missions. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Lady Crystal Swanigan and her dedicated staff for their faithful leadership and service from July 2022 through July 2026.

✨ Congratulations to Dr. Tara Phelps-Jones on her election as 1st Vice President of the International Women's Ministry (IWMA), Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (PAW).

✨ Congratulations to Min. Myron Gray on receiving the International Wayfarers Auxiliary (IWA) Legacy Award for his outstanding service and lasting impact.

✨ Congratulations to Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. on receiving the Leading Giver Award in recognition of its faithful support of International Missions, including the Samuel Grimes School and the Haywood Missions Institute.

Your dedication reminds us that faithful service, generous giving, and steadfast leadership continue to strengthen the Kingdom and leave a lasting legacy. We celebrate each of you and pray that God will continue to bless the work of your hands as you inspire others to serve with excellence.
