We honor our beloved Pastor, Fr. Seamus J. Farrell, the true heart, soul, and guiding light of St. Bede Catholic School and Parish.
From his roots in Ireland to his ordination in Birmingham, England in 1967, Fr. Seamus lived a life of extraordinary service. After serving at All Saints in Hayward and St. John the Baptist in San Lorenzo, he found his home at St. Bede in 1986. Since making St. Bede his home, he spent 40 years pouring his heart into our community. Even after his retirement in January 2026, his presence remained a blessing through special appearances and masses.
Fr. Seamus was a fiercely dedicated advocate for Catholic education. His love for our students knew no bounds, so much so that even in his last moments, he was still asking about our kids and how they were doing.
We are endlessly grateful for his decades of wisdom, kindness, and spiritual leadership. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of every student and family you encountered. Rest in peace, Father Seamus J. Farrell, thank you for blessing us, thank you for listening to us, thank you for spelling to us, thank you for feeding us, and thank you for loving us. We will miss and love you.
