Christ's Community Church

Christ's Community Church Christ's Community Church exists to help people grow in the likeness of Jesus so that they can go out and show his love to the world.

Christians were never called to hide from the world.

Jesus called His people to be salt and light — present in their communities, serving, loving, building, helping, and bringing hope wherever they go.

The church’s mission doesn’t stop at the walls of a building.
We are called to faithfully live out the love of Christ in the world around us.

Good morning and happy Sunday everyone! This morning we are continuing our series on 1 Peter. 1 Peter teaches us how to live with hope, holiness, and courage in a world that often feels uncertain. Today we are talking about the gospel at home and how it shapes even the closest of relationships. We'll see you at 10:00am!

The church changes the world not by becoming louder than everyone else, but by becoming more like Jesus. The early church didn’t transform Rome through power or dominance. They changed the world through integrity, generosity, humility, holiness, and sacrificial love.

When the church simply blends into culture, it loses its witness. When the church withdraws completely from culture, it loses its mission. We are called to faithful presence — living differently because we belong to Christ.

Every Christian has the same deepest testimony: I was lost, and God brought me in. Once I was not God’s people, now I belong. Once I was without mercy, now I have received mercy.

That’s my story. That’s your story. And it should shape the way we see one another.

No room for pride. No room for arrogance. Because nobody enters the family of God by qualification — we all come the same way: through the mercy of Jesus Christ.

Caring for the poor and vulnerable is not optional for the church. If God is compassionate and merciful, then His people should reflect that same compassion in the way we live. Christians are called to notice suffering, move toward need, and care deeply for the vulnerable — through generosity, service, and the kind of communities we help create.
The love of Jesus is meant to be seen, not just spoken.

What does faithful Christianity look like in a hostile culture?

Not louder arguments.
Not power struggles.
Not outrage.

Peter paints a different picture: Christians who serve sacrificially, love radically, speak graciously, forgive freely, and live with integrity. The church’s greatest witness has never been force. It’s the beauty of a life shaped by Jesus.

The church was never meant to just gather in a building once a week.

We are called to become a living display of the grace of God. When people look at the church, they should begin to see what God is like.

His mercy in the way we forgive.
His love in the way we serve.
His holiness in the way we live.
His truth in the way we speak.

The church is called to make the invisible God visible.

The world rejected Jesus. God made Him the cornerstone.

That’s the heart of the gospel: Jesus was cast out so we could be brought in. He took our sin, shame, judgment, and alienation at the cross so we could become the people of God.

Your past does not define you. Your failures do not define you. Your reputation, wounds, or accomplishments do not define you.

If you are in Christ, your deepest identity is found in Him.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free, and love is often demonstrated through selfless courage.
As we gather with family and friends, may we also take time to reflect with gratitude and remember the words of Jesus: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Today, we remember.
Today, we give thanks.
Today, we honor the fallen.
