Our church had its beginning in 1880, when it was known as
"The Prairie Home Christian Church" and met in the Blood School House on the northwest corner of 63rd and South Broadway. The first

church building was built on the McGinnis farm, now known as the Wheeler farm, on the southeast corner. In 1893, the little church building was moved into Haysville, just one year after the town was established. It was then located on First Street, between Hays and Main Street and was known then as "The Haysville Christian Church." The building was added to and modernized, using materials, in part from the old Belmont Church. That original church was the "Community Four Square Church." In 1947, the parsonage was built, just north of the church, using material from the Blood School house. Then a parsonage was purchased in 1956, at 227 German, and was used by five ministers and their families.

Please keep Braxton Vestering and his family in your prayers. Braxton, the 12-year-old great-grandson of Beverly Sale and grandson of Tehra and Craig Faidley, was struck by a car while riding his scooter near his home in Ponca City and is currently hospitalized in Wichita. Doctors expect a long road to recovery ahead. We are lifting up Braxton, his mother Stephanie, and stepfather Dustin, and his extended family during this difficult and uncertain time. We pray for healing, strength, comfort, wisdom for his medical team, and peace for all who love him. As a church family, may we surround them with love, encouragement, and faithful prayer in the days and weeks ahead.

❤️ A GoFundMe has also been established to help support Braxton's family with the many expenses that come with a long hospitalization and recovery. If you feel led to give, any support and continued prayers are deeply appreciated.

Today we remember Mack Bowyer — a faithful and steady presence in the life of our church community. Mack may not have sought recognition or attention, but his quiet commitment to service spoke volumes. Through countless acts of kindness, dependability, and humble dedication, he helped care for the work and people of the church in ways both seen and unseen.
We extend our prayers and deepest sympathy to his family and all who loved him. May we honor his memory by carrying forward that same spirit of quiet faithfulness and service.

Come, hidden Wisdom…”
A beautiful reflection on Christ as the Wisdom and Light of the world. ✨

“O Sapientia”

I cannot think unless I have been thought,
Nor can I speak unless I have been spoken.
I cannot teach except as I am taught,
Or break the bread except as I am broken.
O Mind behind the mind through which I seek,
O Light within the light by which I see,
O Word beneath the words with which I speak,
O founding, unfound Wisdom, finding me,
O sounding Song whose depth is sounding me,
O Memory of time, reminding me,
My Ground of Being, always grounding me,
My Maker’s Bounding Line, defining me,
Come, hidden Wisdom, come with all you bring,
Come to me now, disguised as everything.
