First Christian Church Haysville Kansas Founded in 1880, First Christian Church of Haysville has grown from a one-room schoolhouse to a thriving congregation. It was sold in 1978. To be continued....

Our church had its beginning in 1880, when it was known as
"The Prairie Home Christian Church" and met in the Blood School House on the northwest corner of 63rd and South Broadway.The first

church building was built on the McGinnis farm, now known as the Wheeler farm, on the southeast corner. In 1893, the little church building was moved into Haysville, just one year after the town was established. It was then located on First Street, between Hays and Main Street and was known then as "The Haysville Christian Church." The building was added to and modernized, using materials, in part from the old Belmont Church.That original church was the "Community Four Square Church." In 1947, the parsonage was built, just north of the church, using material from the Blood School house.Then a parsonage was purchased in 1956, at 227 German, and was used by five ministers and their families.

🕊️ In Loving Memory of George & Anita Lespagnard 🕊️

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m., we will gather to celebrate the lives of George and Anita Lespagnard—two people who meant so much to our church family and to so many throughout our community.

George served faithfully as minister of First Christian Church of Haysville, but his ministry was never a journey he walked alone. While Anita was never a paid member of our church staff, she most certainly served our congregation and our community. She gave freely of her time, her talents, her compassion, and herself!

Together, George and Anita shared their faith, kindness, humor, and love with generations of people. Their influence reaches far beyond the walls of our church.

Please keep the Lespagnard family in your prayers as we gather to honor George and Anita and the beautiful life of faith, service, and love they shared together. ❤️

Good evening, church. We wanted to let you know that our longtime minister Rev. George Lespagnard died peacefully this evening. Rev. Lespagnard served our congregation at an extremely pivotal time, during the tornado and in the rebuilding. We will be planning services and an opportunity to remember both him and his wife, Anita, who passed away just over a year ago.

This morning, when we met for Sunday school, we started sharing stories about George. His odd but unique skills (like being able to spell his name backwards) but also his care and encouragement as a pastor. If you have any memories to share, please do down below.

Please keep the family, especially Jennifer and Randy, in your prayers.

Also, please take a look at the Getting Ahead class, starting Tuesday evenings starting August 25. This is for anybody looking for a better stability and resources with their financial situation. It’s gonna be a great program with a family meal each time, childcare provided, and a $25 gift card for gas each week. Apply at the link in the comments.
