Today, as we celebrate 250 years of American freedom, we thank God for the blessings we enjoy and remember that true freedom is not only something we celebrate—it is something we are called to steward.

“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
— Galatians 5:13

May we use the freedoms God has given us to love our neighbors, serve our community, and point others to the hope found in Jesus Christ.

With heavy hearts, we share that our former pastor, Phillip “Bo” Graves, lovingly known to many as “Brother Bo,” passed away yesterday.

Brother Bo faithfully served at First Baptist Haysville for 33½ years, shepherding generations of families and faithfully preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through his ministry, countless people came to saving faith in Christ, and his impact on our church and community will be felt for many years to come.

Even through his battle with dementia in recent years, Brother Bo remained deeply loved by so many whose lives he touched through his kindness, faithfulness, compassion, and unwavering love for the Lord.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00–8:00 PM at First Baptist Haysville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Haysville.

Please keep the Graves family in your prayers during this difficult time as we remember and celebrate the life and legacy of a faithful servant of Christ.
