Thanks be to God! Power has been restored to Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Diocesan Chancery Offices.

I am pleased to share that the Ordination Mass will proceed as originally planned at Sacred Heart Cathedral today! The reception and first blessings will still take place immediately following the Mass at St. Mary, Queen of the Universe Parish Hall, located at 230 E. Cloud Street in Salina.

Thank you to everyone who offered prayers during this unexpected situation. Your prayers were heard, and we are deeply grateful for the many individuals and utility crews who worked diligently to restore power to our community.

On this Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we give thanks above all to God for His providential care and many blessings. We also entrust our gratitude to the intercession of our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph.

Please continue to pray for our ordinands as they prepare to offer their lives in service to Christ and His Church.

I look forward to celebrating this joyful occasion with many of you!

IMPORTANT ORDINATION UPDATE BELOW:

Due to the storm causing a power outage at the sacred Heart Cathedral, we are waiting until tomorrow morning at 9am to make a final decision on the ordination location. We are hopeful the power will be restored in time!

Please also note: Regardless of where the ordination takes place, the reception and first blessings will now be held at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Parish Hall immediately following the ordination.

Today, the Bishops of the United States will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Parishes and individuals around the country are encouraged to join the U.S. Catholic bishops in this historic occasion, beginning with this Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus written for the consecration.
