Pray for Hayesville CoN as they prepare their parsonage for their new pastor. There’s a lot more to do in this house to be move in ready. Glad Cherryville CoN missions team was able to help for two days - shout out to our Pastor, Kyle DeLong for leading the team. Dunkin Pucket of Pineville church also recruited Wayne to do the electrical work.

🙏 Pray today for people living in the path of Hurricane Melissa.

Hurricane Melissa is a catastrophic Category 5 storm in the Caribbean, currently bearing down on Jamaica with life-threatening winds, rain, and storm surge. The storm is forecast to move toward eastern Cuba and then the Bahamas in the coming days. Early impacts from Melissa’s outer rain bands have already resulted in at least four fatalities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Because of its slow forward movement, extreme strength, and the mountainous terrain of the islands in its path, Melissa poses a severe threat. Communities in its path face the likelihood of catastrophic damage, dangerous flooding and mudslides, and prolonged disruption to daily life and essential services.

The Church of the Nazarene will respond to this storm in the days, weeks, and months to come. Disaster assessments will begin as soon as conditions are safe to guide a coordinated response. Working through partner organizations and local Nazarene churches in affected areas, response efforts will focus on both immediate relief and long-term recovery, offering supplies and support in the name of Jesus. 💙

Meet Jessica! She serves as a missionary on the Eurasia region, working with children and teaching English. Jessica leads a Bible study with teens from the local church and will be starting an English class for Cubans living in Armenia this year. Be praying for Jessica as she connects with children, teens, and others in her community and shows them the love of God.

Today, we honored Pastor Kyle DeLong by presenting him the Distinguished Service Award for Pastor’s Appreciation Month, for his 5th year anniversary serving Cherryville Church, and for being the 75th Church Anniversary pastor in residence. He was showered with love and appreciation gifts from the congregation. His dedication and passion to advance the Gospel has been very instrumental in the significant growth and transformation of Cherryville church of the Nazarene for the last 5 years!
