And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord ;
Isaiah 11:2 KJV
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:18 KJV
I woke up this morning with this revelation, a Rhema word, that he came to heal the broken hearted, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Yet we, as the body of Christ have been blind to the bruised and broken hearted around us. We have been selfish, looking at our own struggles, hurts and hangups, thankful for the fact that God is allowing us to find healing for ourselves, while refusing to see the hurts of those around us. In celebrate recovery we think we are considering those hurts but when something like this happens and we join those who choose to join the accusers, and condemn the hurting. Jesus would say to us "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
No, what they are doing is wrong, there is no doubt, but have we bothered to ask why, or to let ourselves feel what they have felt for decades, no generations. Whether we feel any responsibility for the sins of our ancestors, or of those of our ethnic forebearers, we are called by God the feel the pain of those around us, and be prepared to offer healing to them.
We have failed to do so, we have allowed a whole group of Gods children feel the hurt and suffering of generational oppression. We haven't seen their suffering through his eyes.
May God forgive us, and let us give him glory for allowing us to finally open our eyes to what they have felt. What the enemy meant for for evil, God has turned for our good, And not for our good only. God, has in these last few weeks has granted us, through these recent events, to see the tables turned. We see through the acts of those who want to bring down our current system, a chance to see life from their perspective. They have heard us say for generations, through our actions, that only white lives really matter. Every time one of them gets hurt or dies, we say they brought it on themselves. Again we need to listen to the words of Jesus, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Does this make what they did okay, no, ofcourse not, but does it give us the right to judge, the answer is definitely no. Do two wrongs make a write, again to answer is no.
In the words of James, the earthly brother of Jesus, in chapter 4, verse 17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. I hear the words of Paul crying out to us today, " If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV whether we want to believe it or not, what BLM is saying to us is that until black lives matter to us, there will never be a time when all lives matter. We need to start seeing everyone through the eyes of him who has looked past our faults and mistakes. We may not be defined buy our past, but if we forget how we felt in our pain and suffering, we will loose our since of compassion for those who are still hurting around us. If we claim to be the body of Christ, is christ blind, or just asleep. We need to wake up to the world around us, to our responsibilities to what is going on around us. Revival is in our hands, we must recognize our sins of omission, and repent. Judgement begins in the house of the Lord. Will you all join me in humble confession of our sin, and repent to God, and make amends to those we have failed, only then can we expect God to save us and our land.
