Abraham and his wife Sarah did the impossible—many times.
Imagine heeding God’s call to leave your home forever, to journey through famines and unknown lands based on His promises of a better future.
(OK, so many immigrants and refugees won’t have trouble imagining that part.)
But after age 65?! And imagine being unable to have children but then — at age 90!!! — God says, surprise!
There is SO much drama in Abraham and Sarah’s story, and so much we can glean from it to use in our own lives.
Our June 7th sermon is from Genesis 12:1-9, where we will journey with Abraham and Sarah in all their earnest, imperfect, and all-too-human attempts to believe God’s promises and live accordingly.
God is the hero of this story, and we are learning to trust and cooperate with God as He does the work to form a family and prepare people to be a blessing to all of God’s creation.
In challenging times, we can find help in the Lord, who made both heaven and earth.
Come worship the living God at our 10 a.m. Sunday worship service, followed by a FREE Summer Celebration Lunch for the Community next door at Heydorn Hall. It’s lasagna and more at 65 Broadway, Hawthorne, NY.
Don’t miss out!
