We are a Protestant Church in the Presbyterian tradition. We are part of the Reformed Church in America. Our church has its origins in the old Dutch Reformed Church brought here by Dutch settlers in the 1600′s. Our church home was founded in 1818 and restored in the 1960′s. Our home Hawthorne, New York, a suburban community in Westchester County, about 25 miles north of New York City. We gather to praise God with music that is traditional and modern. We receive God’s grace and love through Scripture readings and sermons for children and adults. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month. We encourage each other by sharing our concerns and praying for one another. We gather after church for coffee, we share in meals, and we join together in church activities. Genuine fellowship helps to shape us into the welcoming family of God that we seek.

How do you make your life matter? How do you make it all worthwhile?

Reading from the Psalms, plus a quote from a humanitarian baseball player, Pastor Dan shares his thoughts on that answer. Give him a listen.

Make it count.

Do you ever see what God is doing in your life — and find it hilarious? 🤣

It’s a laughing matter.

This Sunday, June 14, our pastor will talk about “A Miracle Called Laughter,” drawing from the amazing and tumultuous story of Abraham and his wife Sarah, in Genesis 18:1-15, 21:1-7.
(It’s the second sermon in a series focused on their journey.)

Human beings are made for joy and laughter. Like the laughter that spills from Abraham and Sarah, we are gifted this joy in surprising — even miraculous — ways.

We are called to be ready to embrace the miracle of living with laughter.

Join us in our continuing journey with Abraham and Sarah at our 10 a.m. Sunday worship services at 65 Broadway, Hawthorne, NY.

How is God sparking laughter in your life?

When you attend a communion Sunday at our church, you may get to enjoy our pastor singing at the start of the sacrament.

What is communion anyway?

Taking communion is a Christian practice of eating bread and drinking wine (or juice) to remember Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross and the forgiveness of sins.

What more can you give to those you love than your very own life? We are so loved. All of us.

And at our church, all are welcome. Come 10 a.m. Sundays at 65 Broadway, Hawthorne, NY. It’s near the Metro-North train station, as well as Thornwood and Pleasantville.

Abraham and his wife Sarah did the impossible—many times.

Imagine heeding God’s call to leave your home forever, to journey through famines and unknown lands based on His promises of a better future.

(OK, so many immigrants and refugees won’t have trouble imagining that part.)

But after age 65?! And imagine being unable to have children but then — at age 90!!! — God says, surprise!

There is SO much drama in Abraham and Sarah’s story, and so much we can glean from it to use in our own lives.

Our June 7th sermon is from Genesis 12:1-9, where we will journey with Abraham and Sarah in all their earnest, imperfect, and all-too-human attempts to believe God’s promises and live accordingly.

God is the hero of this story, and we are learning to trust and cooperate with God as He does the work to form a family and prepare people to be a blessing to all of God’s creation.

In challenging times, we can find help in the Lord, who made both heaven and earth.

Come worship the living God at our 10 a.m. Sunday worship service, followed by a FREE Summer Celebration Lunch for the Community next door at Heydorn Hall. It’s lasagna and more at 65 Broadway, Hawthorne, NY.

Don’t miss out!
