Today, we celebrated Divine Liturgy and Vespers for the Nativity of the Theotokos! Our Divine Liturgy was at our Hawk Run parish, and Vespers was at the Student Faith Center for the campus ministry!

Happy Liturgical New Year! Today, the Byzantine church celebrates the beginning of the new liturgical year.

The Byzantine Church inaugurated the first of September as the beginning of the liturgical year in honor of the victory of Emperor Constantine the Great (d. 337 A.D.), over his adversary, Emperor Maxentius, in 312 A.D.

The Snow Shoe Fall Festival and Car Show is on Saturday September 19. Dormition Parish has a booth where we will sell baked goods and cabbage and noodles.

Help is needed in the booth and with baked goods or monetary donations to buy supplies. Our booth is open from 9 until we sell out, typically 4:30.

If you can help, please let Fr. Nick know!

Yesterday, Father Nick replenished the Holy Water supply for both Saint John’s and Dormition, blessing them in a simple service.

We will have the greater blessing of holy water right after the new year for the feast of Theophany!
