Tonight, we discussed some questions about Emerge that most of us have been curious about. One issue was the idea of leadership, as a group we had decided that while the group should remain youth-centered, we needed Sarah Eikleberry and Noah Hayden to take the reigns of the behind the scenes work, like the Emerge page and the group chat, as well as lessons. We will still rely on you youth to plan the activities and other outings/things that we will want to do as a group. Noah will have access to the music that we have been using, once he get the flash drive from Blake, and he can and will take suggestions on what songs we will sing on the nights that we meet. We will now be meeting at Sarah and Erin’s house on Sunday nights for a more serious meeting and Thursday nights for a more laid-back environment that will include games, food, movies, and whatever else the group would like to do; both nights we will meet at 7:00 pm. Any changes will be posted on both the Emerge page and the group chat. We are also changing our classification of our group from a “youth group” to more of a high school to college aged group. We don’t want there to be a defined age limit as that can negatively impact the involvement of some people who could really benefit from the group. If there are any specific topics that you would like to have a lesson over, please directly message Sarah or Noah, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Also, if there are any concerns that you would like to address moving forward please don’t be afraid to ask. We really want to maintain the connectiveness this group has always had and are wanting to make this transition as smooth as possible.
