Parkway Heights Parents, we need pictures and videos of your children waving palms! Don't have a palm or other greenery? I've got you covered! Pick up a palm branch this Sunday, take a photo or video, and send it to Lesley! We hope to make a video to show on Palm Sunday, March 28. This is a good opportunity to celebrate Palm Sunday with everyone, including those who are not comfortable coming to church yet! “Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” John 12:13

Also, Holy Week devotional materials are ready to pick up! This is a very sweet resource that we have put together for you and your little ones. Be sure to pick one up on Sunday!

February 15, 2021

We enjoyed seeing many of you at our special Mardi Gras Parking Lot Communion Celebration yesterday afternoon. The Lent in a Box devotional materials that we handed out at the event were designed with families and children in mind and I would like for you all to have one. I intend to use the devotional materials as the basis for Children's time through the season of Lent. I have a few boxes left and I will make more boxes this week. Please let me know if you and your family would like a box. As long as we have supplies left, I will make sure that you get one!

Blessings, Lesley

Join us tomorrow, January 31, in the second floor children's area for Children's Time at 10:00 a.m. for a special mission project. In keeping with our Simon Peter series, we will be making fish valentines for participants in the Meals on Wheels Ministry. Valentine making kits will also be available by the clipboard baskets outside of our worship areas on Sunday and in the office next week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each bag will contain supplies for 2 valentines. Please bring at least one valentine back to church by Sunday, Feb. 7, and place the valentines in the designated basket by the clipboards so that our volunteers can deliver the valentines.

This Sunday we will celebrate Epiphany at Parkway Heights. Epiphany is the day Christians remember the coming of the Magi to visit Jesus, bringing their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The Magi were the first to recognize that Jesus was good news for all people, not just a select few. As we celebrate Epiphany, we rejoice that Jesus is the savior of all people!

Children's time will resume this Sunday, Jan. 3, in the Youth Chapel at 10:00 a.m. for preschool and elementary age children. In celebration of Epiphany, we will be collecting gently used books and toys during Children's Time for Parkway Heights' very own Early Encounters Preschool. Please help your child pick out one or more gently used toys and/or books that they no longer use to bring to Children's Time this Sunday. Items collected will be donated to Early Encounters.

December 24 – Some families prepare for Christmas by taking figures of Mary and Joseph on a journey around their house through the season of Advent. This symbolizes the journey they took to Bethlehem. Locate your favorite nativity scene. Read the scripture from the Christmas Eve family devotion and take Mary and Joseph on a journey through your house as you imagine their journey to Bethlehem. (Make sure to put baby Jesus in a special place and leave the manger empty today.)
