For 27 years, Mitch Williams brought Pine Belt sports into living rooms across South Mississippi.

Williams served as sports director at WDAM, covering Friday night football, championship runs and moments that brought the community together. His tenure at the station ended in 2011.

Congratulations to the all the new inductees to the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame. Induction ceremonies are coming up soon. A group which includes the legendary Coach J. Larry Watkins!
Known for his historic time at Petal High School, Coach Watkins is regarded as one of the most loved and respected coach of any sport...in the Pine Belt Area. Period.

FCA of Southeast Mississippi would like to give our earnest thanks to Dr. Warren Woodrow and the Southern Regional Education Service Agency (SRESA) for their invitation to speak at the their annual Prayer Breakfast at the Making Connections Conference in Biloxi. Had a bunch of folks also come by our FCA Table and after we were done this morning, it wasn't anything left to take back home. And that was a good thing. 🙂
The Making Connections Conference is the largest teacher conference in the state, with educators we met from all over Mississippi who spend a week preparing for the 2026-27 school year. A season which unbelievably begins in a matter of weeks.
We were also blessed meeting a number of our tremendous FCA volunteers, who help sponsor and or lead our efforts on a campus. We honor those who serve our kids and families all over our state through a classroom, a field or a gym. We believe your best season, prayerfully in the soon days ahead, is yet to come.

Pearl River Community College wins the national title in baseball in 2026! Coach Michael Avalon's team again makes history on the field. But it's off the field, where a culture of "values" makes the real difference we believe. Horizontally and Vertically.
In every season....
FCA of Southeast Mississippi salutes the 2026 Champion Wildcats. And through the visionary and investing leadership of PRCC President Dr. Adam Breerwood, Pearl River Community College being and becoming the first NJCAA school to win a national championship in both baseball and softball in the SAME year.
And because of that culture and faithful investment, more accomplishments like these on the field may be on the way. Yep...
