I took this picture at the Rainforest Carwash on Arcadia street in May of 2014…
If you look closely you can see what most people call a weed… to me it’s a beautiful flower…
It’s me…
What you can’t see are all the obstacles this little “weed” had to overcome in order to bloom…
The little seed that this “weed” came from was in a very deep, dark place to start with…
There are layers and layers of mulch blocking sunlight & air…
Underneath the mulch are two layers of thick rubber landscape sheets blocking water…
Underneath that is only hard-packed red dirt…
W**d killer has been sprayed over this area for years to kill the “weed” …
Everything that could be done to prevent this “weed” from growing and blossoming has been done…
It takes determination, perseverance, grit & grind, drive, hustle, focus, sacrifice, diligence, consistency, and faith to overcome…
It’s work, and it’s hard work…
Life’s not fair, sometimes there are rubber sheets and mulch in the way of the things we need just for survival, sometimes our environment is the equivalent of hard-packed red dirt instead of fertile ground, sometimes this world will try to poison us… sometimes, we bring it on ourselves…
None the less, the how’s & why’s we end up in that very deep, dark place to start with are really very irrelevant…
This “weed” – this beautiful little flower is YOU…
Keep pushing… YOU WILL BREAK GROUND…
Keep pushing… YOU WILL BLOOM…
Keep pushing… YOU WILL OVERCOME…
