Why Bother?

Why Bother? "Why Bother?" The answer: because God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so we may live. You are worthy, you are all welcome at God's table.

Why Bother is for those seeking truth, seeking love and seeking to give to those that have been forgotten.

Love thy neighbor! I meant that! -- God

Progress is putting one foot in front of the other even if it is hard and faith is not knowing what direction it will lead you but trusting anyway.

Christians,

I need you to need to hear this! God knows the beginning and the end. He is in control. We need to remember that! We need to bring ourselves to a place where we can let go of all anger and dissension! We need, more than ever, to be patient, vigilant in our faith and His promises. We need to fill this world with love and focus on being more Christ like in all of our actions, word, deed and thought. Satan is trying to tear us apart and we CAN NOT let our emotions guide us, as they will deceive us and tear our focus from our Father.

We need to pray without ceasing! We need to put our trust in God and we need to know that we will be delivered from the darkness as long as we are focused on Him.

The world (evil) is trying to distract us from the truth and pit us against each other. Do not let Satan in. He is a liar and comes in the night (darkness) to deceive and steal from us.

I ask that you turn to God's word and stay focused on Him. I pray that all of you will seek Him and know the truth. In God's name I pray, Amen!

Here's an update on Loran

Loran was released from ICU and transferred to LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) at St. Joe's yesterday afternoon around 5:30 p.m.
He is getting settled in, and they are working with him on breathing more on his own, so he will be able to get off the vent. He is currently still on it, but his O2 is at 45 and the pressure is at 8. Still no fever, so hopefully the scariest of days are behind him!
Kathy spoke to him last night and he was pretty aware of everything around him. He seems more and more like his old self. He's coming back to us, everyone!
At this point, he has officially 'survived' Covid-19. What a terrible, insidious virus! Now, we all just need to continue our loving support and prayers to the Lord for Loran's continued physical well being and strength, and his emotional and mental determination to work his way back home.

Thank you for your continued prayers. May God bless each of you!

I know some have seen the post about The Christmas Star appearing this year on December 21st. I couldn't help but really take a deeper look at how amazing that this occurrence would be happening in the year 2020.
In the year when Jesus was born, there was violence, chaos, political and social unrest. It was dark.
The Magi found him by way of the star, which was the "meeting" of 3 stars: Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. They followed the star until it rested on where he was and they began to worship him. In a time where is was dark, Light was brought in to our world. Jesus stepped in to the chaos and brought peace.
Fast forward to this year, 2020. It's a time of violence, chaos, political and social unrest. It is dark. Winter Solstice, December 21st, being a time where the day is the shortest and night is the longest...it's literally the "darkest day" and is the beginning of what most would say the cold, dark winter season.
But on the darkest day this year, Jupiter and Saturn meet, giving us the Christmas Star! How fitting...that in the moment of time during the Christmas season that we get to see this beautiful reminder...that even in the darkest of times...Light will, and has, stepped in. In our chaos He is there. In our darkest time, He is there. He brings Light, and makes all things new.
So as you look out on Dec 21st for the Christmas Star, may we be reminded of His power, and His Light that he brings for all mankind. He is perfect at stepping into chaos and bringing it into peace.
Copied from a friend... you may do the same.
Thank you Jesus

After deciding to only provide updates every other day, there was some additional news today, so wanted to share...
โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”
Tuesday 12/8 update on Loran: The pulmonologist called Kathy today. The Tracheotomy will happen tomorrow at Woodwinds after all, most likely in the afternoon. The surgeon will call her tomorrow and ask for consent to do the procedure. The Trach is their recommendation to give him the best chance of survival. She said Loran is still pretty young and all other vitals are functioning as they should. However, the CT scan of his lungs does not show marked improvement, just that inflammation is moving around. The infections seem to be under control now and his white blood count is back to normal so thatโ€™s good. This Pulmonologist also practices at St. Joes and she said they are doing everything at Woodwinds that they would do at St. Joes. The surgeon is coming over from St. Joes. She said โ€œto be frank, individuals with as severe of ARDS induced by covid as he has, it's about a 40% mortality rateโ€. She feels he will likely still be in intensive care, even at Christmas and she predicts months of rehab afterwards. So we pray that he falls into the 60% survival. We have to pray his immune system kicks it up a lot of notches and fights this evil Covid and ARDS off!
โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”
Please prayer warriors, donโ€™t stop lifting Loran up in your prayers!!!
Please Father God, heal Loranโ€™s lungs and his body and deliver him from this evil. Return him to his loving family and friends. We beseech you Dear God, as the great physician, to heal our loved one! In your precious Sonโ€™s name we humbly pray. Amen.

Please prayer warriors, pray for Jackie

Jackie's has not been feeling well for the past 2 months. She had been having a lot of stomach pain/pressure, feeling full and just not feeling right. She also has lost a considerable amount of weight in the past year. She had just moved into Carrie's house when this was happening and after a couple of weeks of still feeling ill, she went to see her doctor. After tests were done that day, they had seen some type of mass on her CT scan. She was sent immediately down to North Memorial Hospital for surgery. They did a laparascopic procedure to see what was going on in her abdomen/stomach area and took a biopsy of the mass. The test result came back. Her and Carrie went to see her doctor to get her results. It came back as cancer. Her doctor said she has had it for probably a year. He set her up with a surgeon he knows that has years of experience and one he trusts. He explained to her that she will be having a procedure done called the Whipple. As he calls it a big surgery.

A Whipple procedure โ€” also known as a pancreaticoduodenectomy โ€” is a complex operation to remove the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine (duodenum), the gallbladder and the bile duct. The Whipple procedure is used to treat tumors and other disorders of the pancreas, intestine and bile duct.

We have set up a Go Fund Me page for Jackie and we listed some things she could use and need.

Since she just moved into Carrie's she could use some medical equipment. You can message Carrie to get a list of what she needs. She could use Fuel Cards for getting back to all her appointments. Grocery Cards... someone to donate time and materials to help build a ramp so they can wheel her into the house. She will be in need of Wigs, hats and bandanas. Any kind of comfy cozy personal items like blankets, clothes, toiletries etc. Anything little or big would be appreciated. Please keep her in your thought and prayers.

Jackie is a mother, grandmother, sister, friend and daughter and is ready for this fight.
