St. John's life-long member, Eugene Leu, is celebrating his 95th birthday on May 2, 2026 !!! On Sunday, May 3rd, following the 8:30 a.m. church services, refreshments provided by his family, will be held in the church basement in his honor.

Ash Wednesday marks the solemn beginning of the Lenten season, inviting us into a time of repentance, reflection on our mortality, and recognition of our need for Christ’s redeeming grace.
This day calls us back to the renewal of our baptismal promises, symbolized by the imposition of ashes.
The ashes—typically placed on the forehead in the shape of a cross—serve as a humbling reminder that we are dust, and to dust we shall return, acknowledging both our human fragility and our need for spiritual renewal.
