Today we celebrate and give thanks for Courtney Eubanks and her first year of faithful service as Ministry Development Director at St. Luke Methodist Church!

Courtney, thank you for your dedication, creativity, leadership, and love for our church family. Your commitment to helping St. Luke grow in ministry and mission has made a meaningful difference in the life of our congregation.

Congratulations on this one-year milestone! We are grateful for all you do and look forward to what God has in store through your continued ministry among us.

This week’s renovation update- All the walls are gone! Next up, steel support beams in the ceiling. After that, the temporary wood supports will come out and you’ll be able to see the full expanded space.

This week’s renovation update:

1) The popcorn ceiling in the Sanctuary is gone! Our crew has finished painting it. Now for the rest of the walls. You can really tell a difference between the old paint still on the walls and the brightness of the new on the ceiling.

2) The new sound booth is framed out.

3) Two of the three block walls of the old acolyte room are down. You can really see the expanded Narthex starting to take shape.

The wood you see is temporary supports until the new support beams go in the ceiling.

Not only is tomorrow Pentecost (don’t forget to wear red!), tomorrow is also Aldersgate Day!

On May 24, 1738, John Wesley attended a meeting on Aldersgate Street in London and felt his “heart strangely warmed” as he experienced the assurance of God’s saving grace through faith in Christ. This transformative moment ignited the fire that launched the Methodist movement and continues to remind us today that faith is not just intellectual—it’s a living, personal encounter with the love of Jesus.

How wonderful that we get to remember this day in the day we celebrate the Holy Spirit coming to those in the upper room!

Let’s celebrate this legacy by opening our hearts to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. May we all experience our own “Aldersgate moments” this week! 🔥🙏
