Posting for Mt Tabor Cemetery!
It’s time for the mowing crew to resume cutting the grass, after Decoration, and many folks prefer to come take their Decoration flowers off the graves and put them up for next year.
Out of respect, the crew asked me to let everyone know so they can do that if they want.
The mowers blow grass clippings on all the flowers, there’s no way to avoid that.
Please share with your families and friends who need to know.
Thank you!

Posting for Mt Tabor Cemetery!
It's nearly that time of year when they start cleaning and clearing off the graves in preparation for Decoration Day!
All flowers that you want to keep have to be removed by April 15th!
Please come remove them so they won't be discarded during this annual cleanup.
You CAN put them back on the graves on Decoration weekend (not before!)
This keeps down any confusion about what should or shouldn't be removed by the Cemetery workers.
If it's still there on April 15th, it's removed.
Also, please abide by the rules posted on the signs. Only ONE ground flower is allowed per grave except during May. Remember, these guys have to mow and weedeat around every single flower and sentimental item you place.
I'm including a photo of the Cemetery rules and information for everyone's convenience.
Please share this post to remind all who have loved ones buried here.
Thank you!

Posting for Mt Tabor Cemetery (Hartselle)
Please REMOVE all flowers from your loved ones graves before April 15th.
Any left as of that day will be removed and discarded per Cemetery rules.
(Please do NOT put new flowers on graves until Decoration weekend to avoid any mixups!)
Decoration at Mt Tabor Cemetery is always Mother's Day weekend, which this year falls on Saturday & Sunday, MAY 11th & 12th.
(Please read over the rules pictured, it's important to follow the rules so that they can do the upkeep on the cemetery.)

Ran across this old picture of the church, that I took not too long after I first got here.
Sometimes I don’t realize what a difference there is between then and now, until I run across pictures I’ve taken along the way. I work on and around this little church so much because I love it and deeply respect it. It’s Gods house, it deserves respect.
And there are so many people in our community who have deep ties and bonds to this little old church and the grounds. Beautiful memories they will carry forever in their hearts. That deserves respect too.
This little place has played a huge part in the community for many many years and hopefully will for many more years to come.

Posting as a courtesy for Mt Tabor Cemetery. These signs are posted at both sides of the cemetery:
*Decoration Day is always on Mothers Day (the weekend of).
*As stated in the posted rules, they ask anyone who wants to save the flower arrangements you already have out on your loved ones grave, to come pick them up. You can place them back as of decoration day, if you want.
*This must be done BY April 15th!
*As of April 15th they start the major cleanup, and all arrangements are removed. *(Please don’t place new arrangements before Decoration day once this cleanup has started!)
*This has been the rule for many years.
*****This note from myself:
The board of this historical cemetery does a lot for our community, and they don’t charge anyone for the plots. Please make a yearly donation to help maintain the cemetery. (Those need to be given directly to the Mt Tabor Cemetery board, they are always present during Decoration weekend!)
I’ve heard a lot of people complain but very few lift a finger to help care for this place. And trust me, I’ve seen first hand the amount of work these folks put in to take care of this place. It’s a huge undertaking, and a huge community need.
Please respect them and support them as they are caring for your loved ones graves. And don’t forget to greet them and say thanks for all they do. They don’t HAVE to do all that they do. They do it because they care about our community, and the people in it.

Notes from the desk of Feeding Families of AL:
I get texts, messages, emails all the time letting me know that many people believe giving out expired foods from our food pantry should be okay. (Their opinion, not mine. )
There are many reasons we DON’T give out expired foods.
But one of the best reasons I can tell you is that, as a Christian, it would be so very wrong. (That IS my opinion. )
In the Bible, Matthew 25:40 says:
And the King shall answer and say unto them, “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Now I myself look at it this way… if Jesus came to my house for dinner, I certainly wouldn’t go through my cabinets and pick out the out-dated, expired, or ruined foods to cook and serve to Him, thinking “well, if he’s truly hungry, he will eat it!”
Nope, I’d be picking out the very best of all I had, and I’d be happy to do without a fancy meal myself, to serve him the very best I could.
And if that’s what I’m doing for the poor, for those in need…giving them the worst of what I’ve got and hoarding the best for myself? The Bible clearly tells me I’m not just doing that to the needy, I’m doing it to Jesus Himself.
I don’t know about everyone else, you certainly have a right to believe as you wish. But I’m not willing to do that.
This isn’t a debate post. This is simply an explanation post.
People ask why we do some of the things we do here when everyone else tends to do things differently.
This is just one of the many questions we hear on a regular basis. And the answer to that question.

Look at that beautiful new roof on Mt Tabor Church!!! No more leaks, no more patching every time it rains! No more water damage! This historical old church building that holds so many beautiful memories for people in our community, and now houses Feeding Families of Alabama has been preserved from the elements and now hopefully will stand many more years!
Thank you God!
And thank you Boxwood Roofing for doing such a wonderful job on this building!
Y'all, their crew showed up at daylight, and worked till way after dark each day to get this job completed for us. They worked like crazy with barely a break each day, they were so respectful and careful! This was a HUGE job, with a whole lot of damage that had to be fixed...they took on this way overdue project, and did such a great job!
I highly recommend Boxwood Roofing!
