The Morgan Baptist Association has been serving the people of Morgan County Alabama since 1919. During more than a century of ministry, MBA has helped her member churches find ways to partner together for the kingdom of God and for the glory of God. Today, almost 7

0 Southern Baptist Churches are members of the Morgan Baptist Association. These churches are located across our county from the far north along the Tennessee River to the far south along the county line. The association exists not to do the work of the local church but rather to assist, encourage, promote, and support the work of the local church. Our facility in Hartselle, Alabama includes the MBA office, a conference room, a larger meeting room and other office space, as well as the Caring Place Ministry and the Sycamore Bargain Center thrift store. Our association’s Disaster Relief Unit is also located on this same property. Every week, these facilities are used by countless people who gather at the association for fellowship, meetings, prayer, worship, spiritual support, Christian counseling, physical support, and a whole host of other ministries. The Caring Place, Disaster Relief, Sycamore Bargain Center, and MBA Office Staff and Volunteers all work together to share the love of Jesus through these various ministries. In addition to the weekly activities that happen at the facility in Hartselle, the Morgan Baptist Association is involved in many other ministries such as Talladega Raceway Ministries, the Caring Place Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, Senior Adult Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Volunteer Missions, both locally and abroad, Youth Ministry, various ministry training, as well as others.

At our meeting, we plan to focus on three things:

1. Developing mentor/encouragement cohort relationships between larger church pastors and your bivocational pastors.

2. Offer local training opportunities for the bivocational pastors (i.e. sermon preparation, how to do a funeral under different circumstances, basic church administration, pastoral care, and time management.)

3. Plan regional retreats and nights of encouragement for bivocational pastors.

You may have additional ideas. Also, I want to take into account your context and the needs of your pastors.

Hartselle Camp Meeting Returns for 127th Year June 14-19

HARTSELLE — One of Alabama's longest-running religious traditions is set to return next week as the 127th annual Hartselle Camp Meeting welcomes worshippers, families and visitors from across the region June 14-19.

Hosted by the Hartselle Camp Meeting Association, the weeklong event will feature daily worship services, community meals, youth programs and missionary outreach activities under the historic Hartselle Camp Meeting Tabernacle.

The meeting officially begins Sunday, June 14, with supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by an opening worship service at 7 p.m. featuring speaker Phil Waldrep.

Throughout the week, worship services will be held daily at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. All services are open to the public.

This year's featured evangelists are Tom Tanner, senior pastor of RiverStone Church in Kennesaw, Georgia, and Jack Lovelace, senior pastor of First Methodist Church in Hartselle. Organizers said the pair will lead preaching throughout the week, continuing a tradition that has drawn generations of worshippers to the annual gathering.

Music for the camp meeting will be led by Rocky and Casandra Garrison of Hartselle. The couple brings extensive experience in worship leadership and instrumental performance.

In addition to worship services, the camp meeting will offer meals that are open to the public each day. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., lunch at noon and supper at 5:30 p.m. Breakfast costs $7 for adults and $6 for children, while lunch and supper are $8 for adults and $7 for children.

Special programming will also be available for students and children.

The Student Ministry, led by Ryan Aymett, Will Miller and Elizabeth Aymett, offers a weeklong camp experience for $175, which includes lodging, activities and all 16 meals.

Kid's World, designed for children in grades 1-5, will be directed by Hallie Johnson. The program will meet Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The cost is $120 for the week or $20 per day and includes breakfast and lunch.

A special missions service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. Missionaries Meshack and Cate Habib and their two children will share about their ministry work during the service under the Tabernacle.

Hartselle Camp Meeting Association President Rob Cain encouraged community members to attend and participate in the week's activities.

"Will you prayerfully join us for this year's Hartselle Camp Meeting?" Cain said in the association's announcement. "To God be the glory."

The Hartselle Camp Meeting has been a cornerstone of the community for more than a century, bringing together generations of families for worship, fellowship and spiritual renewal.
