Thank you to everyone who came out and made last Sunday the special day it was! We had a wonderful combined worship service and fellowship lunch together with fellow charge-church Moss Chapel UMC!

Additional thanks to Alan Head, superintendent of the Mid-Central district, for continuing to support this ministry with his presence and engagement here as well!

Also, personally from pastor Trent: I am so impressed by the turnout. It was a wonderful event beyond anything I had hoped for, and that’s only possible because of the faithful Christians populating these churches. Thank you for the wonderful day, and we will look forward to regular 5th Sunday collaborations in the future!

"I believe..." that he suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.

This seems like an obvious historical fact, and yet we reaffirm belief in it every Sunday. Why? Why is Jesus' suffering and death so important?

Because, when suffering is taken away, not only do we cast aside overwhelming scriptural testimony, we also lose Jesus as a human brother and horribly cheapen the very real sacrifice of Jesus! The reality of suffering is where we most powerfully find common humanity in Christ, and know he loves us through sacrifice.

"I Believe..." in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary.

Now that we've "gotten God" from the first week of our new sermon series on what we profess our belief in through the historic words of the Apostles' Creed, we've reached the rather long section on Jesus.

We, as Christians, believe that Jesus is our savior, Lord (both master and protector), and that he is perfectly incarnate, being both wholly God and wholly man.

I absolutely love the creativity found in this church!

As we continue with our series unraveling the words we speak about our faith, I want to thank Susann and the worship team for putting together such creative pieces that add to the church space and increase our worship experience together.

"I Believe..."

We say these words so frequently, it's easy to forget their significance, or never even ask: what is it, really, that we are affirming? What DO we believe? Join us each week as we go through the Apostles' Creed, hearing, learning, and appreciating these words and what they teach us about the love and will of God.

This week we begin the creed: "I believe in God, the Father, Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth." From the first line of the creed to the first verse in the Bible, we affirm the creative reality that is God, and testify to God in the Father.
