Hartly United Methodist Church and Kenton United Methodist Church are excited and grateful to announce that Pastor Rick has officially been reappointed to The West Kent Charge for another year of ministry through the Peninsula Delaware Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.

In the United Methodist Church, pastors are appointed each year through a prayerful process led by the bishop and cabinet. This appointment system reflects the connectional nature of our denomination and seeks to match the needs of congregations with the gifts and calling of pastors for the mission of Jesus Christ.

Over the past four years, Pastor Rick has faithfully served our churches and communities through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, outreach, discipleship, and community engagement. From worship services and Bible studies to community events, hospital visits, youth outreach, and moments of celebration and grief, his ministry has become an important part of the life of our churches.

As we enter Year 5 together, we are thankful for God’s continued faithfulness and excited for what lies ahead for The West Kent Charge. We believe God is continuing to move through our churches in meaningful ways, and we look forward to continuing to worship, serve, grow, and reach our communities together.

Please join us in congratulating Pastor Rick and praying for another blessed year of ministry at Hartly and Kenton United Methodist Churches.

Memorial Day Blessing of the Bikes

This is more than an event. It is a moment to gather, to honor and to give back in memory and honor of those who gave their lives for this country.

Join us on Saturday, May 23rd from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kenton United Methodist Church for a powerful day centered on community, purpose and remembrance.

Motorcycles will take center stage for this year’s Blessing of the Bikes, creating a strong and visible tribute. Classic cars are also welcome and encouraged to be part of the experience.

This event exists for a greater cause. In partnership with Veterans United Outreach of Delaware, all proceeds and donations will go directly toward supporting Veterans in real and meaningful ways.

Enjoy a great meal for a great purpose. Pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, chips, drinks and dessert are available for a 10 dollar donation.

We are also inviting vendors who provide goods or services that support Veterans. If you are a Veteran or serve the Veteran community and would like to participate, we want you there.

To become a vendor, contact
Pastor Rick Kelly 3022604421

Community Call to Action: Support Hartly Volunteer Fire Company

Hartly Volunteer Fire Company is currently seeking donations of exercise equipment to help their firefighters stay physically prepared for the demands of emergency response. Every call they answer requires strength, endurance, and readiness-and having access to proper fitness equipment helps ensure they can continue serving our community safely and effectively.

They are especially in need of items such as:
• Free weights and dumbbells
• Weight benches
• Cardio equipment (treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals)
• Resistance bands and functional training gear

These men and women serve our communities tirelessly- day and night, in all conditions. Let’s come together to support those who are always there for us by helping them stay strong, sharp, and ready.

If you’re on the fence about going to church this Easter, I want to encourage you. Just go.

A perfect church does not exist. A perfect pastor does not exist. A perfect congregation does not exist. Do not go looking for perfection. Go looking for Jesus. Go looking for hope. Go looking for something real.

Maybe life feels messy right now. Maybe you are carrying things you do not talk about. Maybe you have been away from church for a long time, or maybe you have never stepped foot inside one at all. Bring all of it with you. You do not have to clean yourself up to come to God. He meets you right where you are.

If you are worried about walking in and feeling out of place, hear this clearly. You will not be the only new face. Easter is one of those rare and beautiful moments when people from every walk of life step through church doors. Some come for the first time. Some return for the first time in a long time. You will not stand out. You will belong.

You do not need a fancy outfit. You do not need to have it all together. You do not need to understand everything that is happening. You only need to take the step.

If you are nearby, you are welcome at Kenton United Methodist Church or Hartly United Methodist Church. There is a place for you. Wherever you go, I will rejoice. This is not about filling a building. This is about people encountering the living Christ.

You will be welcomed.
Not just by a church.
By Jesus.

So this Easter, just go.
