SERMON VIDEO: "THE FOUR WITNESSES" - JOHN 5:31-36

The scariest thing that a person can say to you is “trust me.” I have learned the hard way that it would be wiser not to “trust” such a person. Yet, Jesus, who is the Son of God and the Son of man, could have said that after giving His defense and you could trust that what He said about Himself was true. Notwithstanding, He presented four witnesses to his accusers, who would testify to the truth concerning what Jesus said in His own defense. In the sermon today, two of those witnesses are considered, which should have been enough to verify the truth Jesus spoke concerning Himself, which ought to reassure us and comfort us our faith to live by faith bearing the fruit of the Spirit and boldness to speak confidence that our faith is not a blind faith of philosophical nonsense, such the other man-centered religions of the world. I pray the Lord will bless you and strengthen you the Faith as hear what God has to say to you in the preaching of God’s holy word, the Bible.

SERMON VIDEO: "JESUS DEFENDS HIS WORK, PART 3" - John 5:24-30

After a couple of weeks of the worship service being cancelled due to illness and other matters related to the those who attend the service, part 3 of Jesus' defense was delivered yesterday.

Jesus continues to defend His work as the Son of God and the Son of man; especially as it related to the healing of the paralytic man on the Sabbath Day. In this message we take a close look at Jesus' testimony in defense of the false accusations of the Judaic leaders; that is, that He broke the Sabbath Day Law found in the Ten Commands and that He blasphemed God, making Himself equal to the Father. Not only does His defense absolve Him of these malicious accusations, but He also reaffirms the faith of His disciples and us also, as He expands upon His testimony, He has already given concerning Himself and His work. His testimony ought to not just reassure us that Jesus is the only true Savior of sinners, like you and me; it ought to also strengthen our desire as we live our lives each day by faith in the grace of God, giving testimony of the Gospel message, which is the power of God for salvation for all who hear His word and believe in Him who sent Him.

Sermon Text: John 5:19-23

I have uploaded the sermon from yesterday's worship service, as we continue our look at Jesus' defense against the false accusations that He broke the 4th Commandment regarding the Sabbath Day and that He blasphemed God. Both charges are unquestionably refuted as Jesus expands upon what He said in verses 16 to 18.

SERMON VIDEO: "JESUS DEFENDS HIS WORK" - JOHN 5:16-18

In John 5:16-18, Jesus begins to give His defense of why He healed the crippled man at the pool of Bethesda on the Sabbath Day; then, told the man to pick up his bed and walk. What Jesus said to justify His actions would have made it clear that He had full authority to perform a work of love and compassion on the Sabbath Day; however, He was falsely accused of blasphemy.

VIDEO SERMON: "HELPING THE HELPLESS, PART 2" & RGM MINISTRY UPDATE:

First, I just want to mention that I recorded the Resurrection Day; however, I must have forgotten to turn my mic; so, I didn't upload it and get it distributed as I desired to do so - let me know if you can read lips and I'll get a copy to you - lol.

MINISTRY UPDATE:
I continue to distribute gospel tracts and talking to people about the gospel. I have also given believers in Christ a copy of the Reformation Heritage Study Bible to those who have expressed a desire to dig deeper into God's Word. The study notes and thoughts are true to the context and focuses your attention of Jjesus Christ throughout both the Old and New Testaments. In my opinion, it is one of the best study Bibles I have come across in my many years walking with the Lord.

Lord willing and by the grace of God, I will be filling the pulpit at Rock Valley URC on the first 2 Lord's Days of June - both services. This year, Lord willing, RGM will hold 2 Gospel in the Park evangelism events; one in Hartley, IA and the other in Sheldon - the plan is to have one in July and the other in August - will let you know more as the time grows closer. RGM will also, Lord willing, participate in community vendor fairs in the area, as God gives us opportunity to do so. Regarding conferences: though there are no plans at this time conducts any conferences this year, we going to begin planning to conduct at least 2 conferences next year as we have done in past. We considering hold a conference in Spencer, IA at a venue that people would not normally consider holding a conference at - but what can I say; the Lord is providing at a very reasonable cost. I am also considering making myself available to hold seminars on "Biblical Evangelism" anywhere the Lord will send me. Please continue to keep me and the ministry of RGM in your prayers, as know you already do.

Many blessings to you all . . . and thank you for your continued prayers and support as I as I continue to go through a very rough time in my life, emotionally - the trial is great, but our Faithful Savior and Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, is greater!

Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler during the Lord's Day worship service at Resurrection Hope Congregation on March 22, 2026

Jesus came to help the helpless; but it was not just the helpless with physical infirmities. He came to heal sinners of their spiritual infirmity. His mercy and compassion shown to the crippled man ought to also give us, who have been "healed" by the grace of God, pause to consider how we ought to show God's mercy and compassion towards others. SERMON VIDEO: HOW HAVE YOU RECEIVED JESUS CHRIST?

Sermon Text: John 4:43-45; Scripture Reading: Luke 4:14-30 (other Reading: Isaiah 61:1-11)

Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler on March 1, 2026, during the worship service at Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA

The title of the message is asking in what way have you received Jesus Christ. How you receive or have received Him will have eternal consequences - so the question is an important one; especially for those of us who profess faith in Jesus Christ. For many, they have received Jesus as the Galileans did in John 4:45. For others, they have received Jesus as the Samaritans did, as recorded in verses 39 and 441 of John Chapter 4. Listen to the message; then examine your own heart as to how you have received Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless you in the hearing of God's word preached.

Sermon Text: Various Passages; Scripture Readings: Matthew 26:17-30; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 (Other Reading: Hebrews 9:1-28)

The Lord’s Supper, as with water baptism, are sacraments that are viewed in several different ways by different Christian denominations and churches throughout the world. In the message linked below, Rev. Stetler gives the Biblical ground for the Sacraments being signs and seal of God’s new covenant to His Chosen people in Jesus Christ and what that means specifically regarding the Lord’s Supper. May the Lord bless you in the hearing of God’s word preached.

SERMON VIDEO: "WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BELIEVE?"

Sermon Text: John 4:39-42 (Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:1-16); Other reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-17

Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler on February 8, 2026, during the worship service of Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA - a Reformed and Presbyterian fellowship and ministry of Reformation Gospel Ministries.

The question that is being addressed in this message, drawn from God's word is, "what will it take for you to believe?" Do you require signs and wonders (miracles) like many today, as they hold on to a form of "seeing is believing" form of faith, which is not faith at all. Or, will you embrace with your whole heart the written/spoken word of God and the promises delivered to us by the Prophets and Apostles for your salvation and for all that you need in this life and in eternity? Is your hope in Jesus Christ alone and the assured salvation and redemption He purchased on the cross, where He shed His precious blood; then, rose again from the dead on the third day? Is Jesus your living hope? The people of the Samaritan city of Sychar believed on Jesus based on . . .
