Kintsugi Sangha

Kintsugi Sangha During the Covid 19 shelter in place restrictions we meet via Zoom for those interested in connection with a Rinzai Zen Buddhist tradition.

Please contact: [email protected] for more information. The Kintsugi Sangha is part of the Rinzai Zen school of Buddhism. We draw much of our teaching from the Hollow Bones order. The national organization can be found at www.mondozen.org. I feel it is crucial for a person to do their spiritual work as well as their emotional work as the founder of the order says: Wake up, Grow up, show up.

The Kitsugi sangha takes an integral approach to this work of awakening: all aspects of an individual must be attended to in order to produce a fully functioning emotionally mature awakened one. We meet weekly to support each other in beginning or strengthening our personal meditation practice, learning about this 2,500 year old tradition, and cultivating emotional awareness skills to take this work off the cushion and out into the greater world. All contemplative practices and traditions are welcome here, many paths one mountain.

This Thursdays speaker is Rev. Vimela Roshi John Nemick who will give a dharma talk on conflict.

When people get angry and you feel an argument about to begin, there is a way to avoid the resentment and drama. Learn how to avoid becoming a doormat or an angry tyrant. This skillful middle way allows you to care for your needs and still remain compassionate in the face of anger and disrespect. I hope you can make it. First timers are welcome at 6PM. The program begins at 6:30.
